BIO

Sherryl Jordan writes: "All my life I have felt a great affinity with deaf people, and have loved sign language. For several years I worked with profoundly deaf children in schools, and spoke with them through signs. Marnie's dealings with Raven -- her difficulties, frustration, despair, joy, and triumph -- are all things I have experienced."  

Sherryl Jordan is the author of WINTER OF FIRE, an IRA/CBC Young Adult Choice, a Bank Street School of Education Children's Book of the Year, an ALA/YALSA Recommended Book for the Reluctant Young Adult Reader, and an ALA/YALSA Best Book for Young Adults; Wolf-Woman, an ALA/YALSA Best Book for Young Adults; and The Juniper Game, an IRA/CBC Young Adult Choice and a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age.  

She lives in Tauranga, New Zealand.
