|
|
The book I would most like to see on the reading list is THE EYE OF THE WORLD by Robert Jordan.
*****
BLUE IS FOR NIGHTMARES by Laurie Faria Stolarz, plus the rest of the series, which includes WHITE IS FOR MAGIC, SILVER IS FOR SECRETS, and RED IS FOR REMEMBRANCE.
*****
Twilight

Wow. There are so many books I would list to see on a summer reading list, but SPECIALS by Scott Westerfeld is the one I would most like to see on a summer reading list.
*****
THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LARRY by Janet Tashjian.
*****
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS by Ann Brashares
*****
Picking one book is VERY hard, but I would have to say THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA by Lauren Weisenberger.
I know it`s kind of cliche because the movie is coming out, but I just read it, and it was great.
*****
Probably UGLIES by Scott Westerfeld. It`s very intriguing.
*****
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD by Harper Lee THE OUTSIDERS by S.E. Hinton
*****
EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED by Jonathan Safran Foer!
*****
TOXIN --- It is not the shortest book at 430 pages, but it`s fantastic.
*****
The first book in the Christy Miller Series.
*****
Twilight
*****
The Truth About Forever
*****
CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC or Anything Chick Lit.
*****
Something like THE BOOK THIEF or even THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA would be nice to see on a book list. I am pretty lucky because on my English 10 reading list I have DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD, and that is a really really good book!
*****
I would like to see John Marsden`s Tomorrow series or any of Tamora Pierce`s books on this summer`s book list.
*****
I would like to see ERAGON or ELDEST by Christopher Paolini on a summer reading list.
*****
I would like to see PEACE LIKE A RIVER by Leif Enger because it connects many other books, poets, and Biblical references. It also is a great book for pondering responsibility and reactions to bullies! It also allows one to experience the fanciful and miracles, along with serious issues like gun control.
*****
I would like to see SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES by Ray Bradbury
*****
DISPATCHES FROM THE EDGE: A MEMOIR OF WAR, DISASTER, AND SURVIVAL by Anderson Cooper
*****
I would love to see GUITAR GIRL on my summer reading list.
*****
I think ELEANOR`S STORY should be on a summer reading list. I read this book at the end of the school year and it is an excellent story. It is a personal memoir of an American teenager who lived in Germany during World War II. It makes you really think about how hard life must have been for BOTH sides of the war and I think every teen should know how horrible life has been in the past!
*****
Guitar Girl
*****
BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE by Kate DiCamillo.
*****
NEW MOON by Stephenie Meyer. I positively loved TWILIGHT. I`ll be reading it, and my friends will say something to me, and I`ll tell them to be quiet, because I`m reading the best love story ever. I hope NEW MOON is even half as good.

TUCK EVERLASTING by Natalie Babbit
*****
I would like to see DREAMLAND by Sarah Dessen. It's a great book because it shows relationships that are good and bad, and it's just a great story.
*****
I would most like to see THE SILENT BOY on a summer reading list. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it, and finished it that same day! Many teenagers will turn down books that are not about "gossip" or "fashion," and I will admit, I was like this too, until I decided to read this book. It was interesting to read about a child in the early 1900s who is not poor. emotionally scarred, or something else sad. I would really like to see this book on more summer reading lists.

*****
I would like to see WORLD OF PIES because it's a mature book, and one that is so real and full of life that you can totally lose yourself in.
I would also love to see KIT'S WILDERNESS. This book was one that I was leery of, it didn't look like something I'd enjoy. Of course, I truly was just judging by the cover. It's such a good book, I adore it.
And last but not least, I'd love to see THE OUTSIDERS. It's one of my all-timers and I just love it. It's such a good story, and one you can appreciate completely from age 10 until the day you die.
*****
FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC 1-800-Where-Are-You series The Mediatorseries Princess Diaries series Christopher Pike's books R. L. Stine books
*****
I think that ENDER'S GAME is an amazing book that would be great for a high school summer reading list. It shows you a lot about human nature as it explores the psychology of a child genius as he is trained to become the ultimate military hero. This book raises a lot of questions about morality and what it is that really makes a person a hero.

*****
THE TASTE OF NIGHT and DANGEROUS GIRLS
*****
A GAME OF THRONES: Everyone needs a bit of fantasy in their summer! However, I realize that it is not exactly summer reading material unless one is taking a fantasy and science fiction English class, as I hope to do. So, a book I would like to see on a summer reading list is THE VIRGIN SUICIDES, which is definitely worthy of literary merit, and a good summer read.
*****
SHADOWS OF MYTH and SHADOWS OF PROPHECY by Rachel Lee or THE GIFT by Alison Croggan
*****
I say, probably, Caroline B. Cooney's THE FACE ON THE MILK CARTON. It's just one of those books that if people who hate reading reads it, they can't just shove it away in their minds once they set it down. They think about it all day, until they JUST HAVE TO pick it up again and finish it. That is why that book should be on everyone's summer reading list!

I would LOVE to see the books by Kate Constable on my summer reading list. The books, THE SINGER OF ALL SONGS, THE WATERLESS SEA, and THE TENTH POWER were all great. These are the books in the Chanters of Tremaris Trilogy. The books are about a chanter who lives in Antaris, a villlage and the place were the priestess lives. The books tell of her and her friends' adventures after she leaves Antaris when a man running away from a chanter wants to rule the world. As her time away from Antaris progress, she learns new enchantments and visits many new countries.

*****
FEED - The book's absolutely amazing. I love it!
*****
Meg Cabot's AVALON HIGH or TEEN IDOL. They are fab. I love the way Meg writes --- her attention to detail draws you in so much that sometimes I get lost in her books. I think both books are quite summery, and they are not that long either; they would take, on average, less than a month. A great summer read.
