I stayed up way too late reading EVERYBODY HURTS: An Essential Guide to Emo culture. For those who have ever listened to angsty songs or been called an emo kid, this is a satirical book written by two writers from Alternative Press Magazine. *****

THE INNOCENT MAN by John Grisham

*****

This is a tough one, considering how many books I've read lately, but I think the last one that kept me up longer than I'd hoped whould have to be DRAGONFLIGHT by Anne McCaffrey. Though it starts out kind of slow, once you get into the good stuff you, just can not pull your mind away from it. The world Anne McCaffrey creates draws you in and makes it seem as if you're there through all the battles. I would definitely say it's a must (especially if you like fantasy and dragons).

CROWN DUEL by Sherwood Smith is one of my perennial favourites, enduring in its beautifully, intelligently written prose and various, tangible characters. The main character, Meliara, is one of the most instantly likable fantasy girls I've read about, and the plot is admirably stellar. While Part I (CROWN DUEL) doesn't quite match up to the delicious intrigue and elegance of Part II, I still stayed up half the night reading the entire thing, quelling my urge to read it once again after I'd finished it.

*****

The last book that kept me reading longer than I planned was KING DORK by Frank Portman. Though, not in a good way. I started the book quite nicely; it was engaging, quirky, and I bragged about it. The Circle of Magic series just got me caught up with wanting more. It took me a while and I still haven't finished it. I am reading THE WILL OF THE EMPRESS right now, and I still have to read the Circle Opens series, where the mages have students. These are really good books and I hope Tamora Pierce creates more with Sandry, Tris, Daja, and Briar. Anyone who loves mystery and magic should read it!

The book that kept me up longer than I planned --- 2 in the morning longer --- was AVALON HIGH by Meg Cabot. The Public Library didn't have the best selection when I went in, so I chose it because I love Meg Cabot, and it turns out that I LOVED this book. I have never read anything quite like it I would really recommend it to anyone who asked about it! It was a GREAT read!
