The last three books I borrowed from my local library were THE OUTSIDERS by S. E. Hinton, THE BATTLE OF JERICHO by Sharon M. Draper, and WHAT HAPPENED TO CASS MCBRIDE? by Gail Giles. My favorite of the three was THE BATTLE OF JERICHO because even though I'm a girl, I realized that I've gone through or am going through a lot of the things that Jericho did, and I just thought it gave a true look at high school and the real reason why hazing is illegal now in at least 48 of our 50 states, possibly and probably all of them by now.
