I recently read two books by Christine R. Swager, BLACK CROWS & WHITE COCKADES and IF YOUR COUNTRY EVER NEEDS YOU. They were about a 13-15 year old girl who becomes a spy for the Swamp Fox because, of course, no one would suspect her. While passing the information on to 'a lad not much older than herself", though angry at him for calling her a child, she begins to fall in love with him. It has romance and historical fiction, all in all, a really good book for a teenage girl.

I have read the first three Clique books with all the teen drama and how most teens can relate to what goes on at school. THE CLIQUE, the first novel, is filled with the drama surrounding a new kid who comes to town, and cliques that are formed. The second of the series, BEST FRIENDS FOR NEVER, speaks about how friends can turn around and stab you in the back after right after telling you they would never do that. The third novel, REVENGE OF THE WANNABES, has that story of friends wanting to be like each other when they should have their own style but sometimes it doesn't work because some people are born followers, not leaders. My friends and I can really relate to these books even though we are still young :)
