If you could organize a "midnight madness" event for any book that either already has been published or has yet to be released, which would you choose? What kind of activities would you plan for it?

Breaking Dawn

*****

I would probably arrange an event for THE SWEET FAR THING by Libba Bray. We'd have berry tosses, where one has to throw a berry through a hole (resembling a mouth) from a few feet away. There would also be costume contests and a frightening section. The frightening section would be like a haunted house, except with the 'bad' creatures from the realms out to scare everyone. The rest of the location would be made to be pretty and dreamy.

*****

No question about it, it'd be DAWN OF THE AGES. This is the next series in the amazing world of Ruin Mist and follows the KINGDOMS AND THE ELVES OF THE REACHES and IN THE SERVICE OF DRAGONS. I'd have everyone dress up as favorite characters or creatures. It'd be amazing since there are so many characters and creatures in the books. I'd also have a contest to see who has the best costume. I'd also do trivia from the books, set up king's mate gaming, trio matches and all the other cool stuff from the books. Robert Stanek is the best.

*****

The book I would hold a midnight madness party for is KINGDOMS AND THE ELVES OF THE REACHES #4. If you read it you know why. The entire series is phenomenal, but the fourth is the ultimate best.

I would hold the party because if you don't read this book, especially if you are a teenager, you are missing out big time. Read it, I tell You! Read it! The book was so engrossing and wonderful.

I'd have a bunch of events

KINGS MATE TOURNAMENTS
It's the game invented by the author for the book. It's playable and the third book has the complete rules. It's amazingly cool and sophisticated.

TRIO MATCHES
Just like in the fourth book, I'd have people participate in trio matches, acting like their favorite from the books. It's an amazing concept, especially how it decides the fates of the times.

COSTUME CONTESTS
I'd have people come to the event dressed like favorite characters. Everyone could try to guess which character people are dessed up as, and the best could win a prize.

DRAGON MAZES
Just like in the fourth book, I'd have a maze with the dragon king at the end, asking people questions to decide their fate.

I would plan a release party for HARRY, A HISTORY coming out this fall by Melissa Anelli. There would be assorted Potter-related games, music and movies playing.

*****

THE TRAVELER or THE DARK RIVER by John Twelve Hawks
Great for Harlequin and martial arts personae --"Avoid the Grid" contests, "Stealth" games, "Realms" trivia.

*****

I would plan a midnight madness event for THE HUNGER GAMES. There would be a camouflage contest, and I would play reruns of "Survivor" while we eat food from the book.

*****

I would have one for INKDEATH by Cornelia Funke, which will be released at the beginning of October 2008. I would have readings of the first two books in the series, maybe as contests, freebies, and other cool games.

*****

I would choose Twilight. I would have a Twilight-themed photo booth, costume contest, and Bella look-alike contest, and much more...

*****

I actually helped plan my library's party for BREAKING DAWN. We came up with games such as Twilight Jeopardy, making BREAKING DAWN T-Shirts, and decorations such as mini trees for the forrest in Forks, red & black balloons, and cupcakes with vampire fangs on them.

*****

Any book written by Christine Warren. Even though her books are for adults, they are really good. I'm not sure what I would plan, but it would be more fun than BREAKING DAWN was.

*****

I would choose THE LUXE by Anna Godberson. Acitivities I would do is A 1889 costume contest, a scavenger hunt for the letter to Diana from Elizabeth, and a dance contest.

*****

RUIN MIST: DAWN OF THE AGES by Robert Stanek. The Ruin Mist books are the best I've ever read. They deserve to have a midnight madness event more than any other books ever written. I'd plan something crazy fun.

*****

The book would be THE KINGDOMS AND THE ELVES OF THE REACHES by Robert Stanek. Everyone who's read it knows why it's the greatest, but for those who haven't read it, the midnight party would let them know it is the greatest. I'd have a medieval feast where everyone would dress up. It'd be huge fun and it would be the best to get everyone into the book.

*****

I would do a "midnight madness" event for the next book in the Private series. I would have events such as a Fashion Show, Fashion Contest and other such things connected to the book.

*****

Robert Stanek's In the Service of Dragons. One look at the cover of it and you'll know why. It is as amazing as it looks too, so my event would have to be amazing. I'd like to have a book signing with the author and trivia contests. I'd like to have everyone dress like their favorite characters. There'd have to be feasting too. I'd like to have a "midnight" event for Dawn of the Ages and Battle for Ruin Mist too.

*****

I would use the Drama High series and everyone would be a character from the book. (I would like to be Jayd Jackson because our personalities are similar.) Then we would all do skits and see who had the most drama in theirs.

*****

I'd like to organize one for the entirety of The Vampire Chronicles, because with all of this kerfuffle flying around the epic fail that is TWILIGHT, I'd like to remind people that there are some good vampire books out there.

*****

Robert Stanek is my ultimate favorite author. I've read IN THE SERVICE OF DRAGONS #1,2,3,4 fifteen times and KINGDOMS AND THE ELVES OF THE REACHES #1,2,3,4 twelve times. I can't wait for his DAWN OF THE AGES.

I'd have midnight madness for his book IN THE SERVICE OF DRAGONS. It'd be like the best party of the year because its the best book ever. In the books, the characters play a game called king's mate. I'd set up a tournament to see who is the best.

*****

I think it should be for the book I enjoyed so much this summer, RAISING KANYE. At the midnight madness event for the book, we should have his cds sold there, and maybe consessions. We'd also have a "Do you know Kanye West" survey type of game for people, and give a prize to the winner.

*****

THE SWEET FAR THING by Libba Bray
PAPER TOWNS by John Green

*****

I would plan one for the hopefully upcoming MIDNIGHT SUN by Stephenie Mayer. We would have a costume party, buttons, free Twilight-themed shirts for the first 100 or so people. We would swap favorite parts of the series, favorite reading positions and anything else the fans of Twilight deem fit.

*****

THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS --- During the midnight madness event, I could show the movie. Plus, people could donate old pairs of jeans, and decorate jeans. There could be Sisterhood trivia, and maybe you could win jeans or a copy of the movie on dvd or the book.

*****

FAEFEVER by Karen Marie Moning. I would have readings from the first two Fever novels, DARKFEVER and BLOODFEVER, something like how many flashlights can you carry in your clothing (you need to read the books to understand), and maybe have an area that would resemble Barron's Books and Baubles.

*****

Cirque Du Freak. I would wait until the movies come out (Yay! February!) and then show a special screening of it for anyone who buys it!

*****

AMONG THE HIDDEN by Margaret Peterson Haddix

*****

I first would plan ghost stories, dark hide and go seek, and feeding yourself.

*****

THE LIGHTNING THIEF by Rick Riordan and GREGOR THE UNDERLANDER by Suzanne Collins. For THE LIGHTNING THIEF, we could have Greek god trivia, a toga party, a who's your daddy quiz (greek god version), etc. For GREGOR, we could have a fear factor theme with chocolate-covered crickets, etc. We could also have trivia, a costume contest and a "which character are you most like" quiz.

*****

TWILIGHT! I just bought the book today and I love it. I have no idea about what to do. I would see if the author would come and sign books, though.

*****

Uglies

*****

I would organize a "midnight madness" event for the book CITY OF GLASS, the third book after CITY OF BONES and CITY OF ASHES. It comes out in March 2009. I'm not sure what activities there would be, but it would be such an excellent night!

*****

I would choose CITY OF MASKS by Mary Hoffman. I would plan gondola racing, Who's the fairest?, and mask making.

*****

Twilight!
A Great and Terrible Beauty!

*****

Midnight madness sounds like it'd be fun and exciting, so I'd have to plan a fun and exciting party. People would have to dress up in costumes from the In the Service of Dragons series by Robert Stanek. I love all of the books in the series, and those in The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches too. My party would be the best.

*****

I would organize a party for the Skulduggery Pleasant series. I ordered them off of the internet when they were popular in England, before they were released in the US.

Some of my activities would include trying to put a skeleton together after Skulduggery had an "accident." Another one would be making your own Book of Names and Scepter.

*****

We would choose BRISINGER, the new book. The activities would be like dragon games to win the book or other prizes. For the decorations, we would set up a big dragon flying around in the air.

*****

If I were to organize a midnight madness, it would be on the book DRAMA HIGH: FRENEMIES. I would do the dances they did in the book.

*****

I vote for The Dawn of the Ages, the new series coming from Robert Stanek. I love his Kingdoms and the Elves and In the Service of Dragons books. He's the best author and he deserves to have a party. I'd like to have a party with events and prizes every hour starting at midnight and going until the next day. The events could be like who has the coolest costume; who knows the most Ruin Mist trivia; who can act like the characters the best. Like that. I think it'd be great!

*****

I would choose ECLIPSE, and I would have a whole bunch of Twilight accessories, such as T-Shirts, key chains, bookmarks, posters and note pads. I would have Twilight trivia and a costume contest.

*****

Breaking Dawn
Book club

*****

My title would be MIDNIGHT ESCAPE. It's about a 14-year-old girl who last remembers being in a mall with her friends and then just woke up in the woods at midnight!

*****

I would probally chose A CHILD CALLED "IT." I would have raffles and all the money would go to children who have been abused.

*****

REVELATIONS by Melissa De La Cruz (The 3rd Blue Bloods novel)

*****

If I could organize a Midnight Madness for any book, I'd for sure choose PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. It wouldn't really be a release party, but I'd organize an all-nighter at a library or something and have everyone show up in costume. As for activities, I'd take a hint from the book itself, which has lots of dancing in it, and have a wild and crazy dance party. It'd be so much fun!

*****

Well, TWILIGHT, because it's amazing. We could do things like apple picking [?], kiss Edward :], and find a *real* vampire, lol.

*****

Breaking Dawn

*****

THE HOUSE ON HACKMAN'S HILL! Masks!

*****

LORDS OF MISRULE by Rachel Caine
Release Date: January 2009

My girlfriends and I would probably have an 1-2 hour- long discussion about Shane and Michael, which one is cuter. We would also have a themed spread of junk food --- chili, tacos, hot dogs, and red juice in honor of the glass house menu. We would have an Eve dress-up contest to see who could dress more like her. We might have an IQ test to figure out who the Claire of the group is. We might also play zombie video games in honor of Shane, and dance to music in honor of Michael. Then, we might hold a vampire movie marathon in which we would compare the vamps on the big screen to the ones in the books.

*****

MIDNIGHT TWINS --- the sequel.

*****

The Twilight series would be the book, and the games would be a dress-up contest and Twilight trivia!

*****

Yes! It would be awesome! Because everyone would dress up as their favorite character and we would have spy games like who could climb the rock-climbing wall the fastest, or who can do karate the best and who can crack the code. It would be the best! You would be busy all night long with these fun activities!

*****

TWILIGHT --- I would chose a bookstore, with popcorn, and much more.

*****

THE GOLDEN COMPASS: I would have a golden compass-making challenge.
