The best book that tells what its like to be a teen today is Chicken Soup for the Teenage soul volume 3. It deals with every emotion that teens today go through and it lets us know that we are not alone. Because it is written by other teens, it shows us that their are other people feeling the same kind of pain or sadness that we feel and it also lete us know how other teens deal with their issues. That is why I think i is the best book to describe teenage life today.

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
And the sequels after that novel.

Stargirl hands down.

I'd have to say the best book that is about teens today would have to be Wings Over Buffalo. It's a fabulous book about a high school girl who wants to leave her home town to start a new life, and her friends that help her along the way. I recomend reading this little known book.

For me, the answer to that question has to be either "Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging" or "Truth or Dairy".....

Sweetart247two@aol.com
Well, the Angus, Thongs... series doesn't really talk straight on about being a teen, but it sure exagerates it, so it's hilarious!

Once again "GingerBread" by Rachel Cohn is the answer to the question "the best book that talks about what it's like to be a teenager today! Dealing with parents, the need to be rebelious, the pressures of relationships, and peer pressures it basically takes every teenager on an emotionally honest path of life today, atleast in one way or another!

The book that i think best talks about being a teen today is Teen Ink.

cheergurl69@chatpit.com
I believe that the book that discribes what it is to be a teen today is the book by Louise Rennison "Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging." If u want a reason I will give u just one of the many reasons. My reason is: Georgia Nicolson faces the same problems and questions that a teen today faces. She deals w/ them in a way that I believe that my friends and I would react the same way. Though this book is based in comady, it is basicly how teenage life goes.

NOELLE486@aol.com
I think Summer Sisters by Judy Blume definitely talks about what it is like to be a teenager today.

LiLsPoRtChIcK13@aol.com
The best book is Definetly
The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants!
It's a great story about girls and their all that happened to them in one summer.

CougarCat24998@aol.com
Chicken Soup for the Teenagers Soul.

I think this book is a great book. It tells about growing up, what teens have gone through. And teens can relate some of their stories from the book. Also possibly get answers to their needs as well.

AngeMommies4@aol.com
I believe that THE book that best talks about what it is like to be a teen today is "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul". There are a lot of encouraging stories in it and you can relate to what others teens feel. I read it and I loved it because I could relate to what the stories had said and it gave me the confidence to go on!!!!!!!

I am not sure what book would describe what teen life is like today but I think if you had to pick a book it would be a book about how hard preasure can get at school or with friends and how difficult decisions get along the road to becoming an adult. The book would also have to talk about friends and family and problems that may occure becasue as you get older you get in more fights and get more conflict with family and friends. It would also have to talk about how harder school would get and all the comitments that you would have to make and how you would have to have a possitive attitude towards things because if you don't then you would get depressed and upset and wouldn't be possotive about things. Well my opinion might not sound that great but I that is what I think the book would have to talk about becasue those are big issues to teenagers! today and they come up a lot in life.

Hi...I would have to say Love and Other Four Letter Words by Carolyn Mackler. The main character, Sammie, is so easy to relate to. Many of the aspects of her personality are ones I also share. She has to deal with her parents' divorce, a selfish friend, and learn to open up a little to other people. I've read it twice since buying it, and I'm sure I will read it again!

DataLore36103@aol.com
Definately "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton.

orin3000@hotmail.com
I think, from my favourite "teen" books so far, Brigid Lowry's books Guitar Highway Rose and Follow The Blue explain what it's like to be a teen today. It tells you about the troubles and problems many teens can have. The idea is realistic, not predictable. That's what I like about it. Keeps you interested because with teen fiction like this we can relate to it and sometimes understand how the character is feeling.

I think that the book, "Speak", by Laurie Halse Anderson is THE best book that describes what it's like to be a teen. It talks about a girl's struggle with grades, friends, and on top of that, a rape at a "high school" party. The girl finds that her art teacher, even though she is not aware of it at the time, helps her find her 'way' through her tough time, and shows her that her art project, which is a tree, is more 'entusiastic' than she thinks. This book explained to me how tough some people can have it, how cruel some people can be, and how hard it really is to be a teenage girl.

The best book that tells what teens are like today is Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares. Chronicling the lives of four best friends, Sisterhood captures the actions, emotions, insecurities, and secrets of every teenage girl into four distinct characters. It follows the summer adventures of Bridget, Lena, Carmen, and Tibby. And while each charcter is different from each of the others, each character is reflected in each of us. Thoughtful, fun, and easy to read, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a must!!

I think that the best book/series that best describes what it's like to be a teen is probalby the Georgia Nicolson series. This Series includes " Angus, Thongs, and Full - Frontal Snogging " & "On the Brightside, I'm Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God " & " Knocked Out by my Nunga - Nungas " !!! I have not read the 4th one " It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers " but I have had the fortune and joy of reading the first 3! It talks about a 14 yr old british girl named Georgia Nicolson overcoming fears and all the hurtles that she has to deal with of becoming a young woman! I am 13 yrs old and I can relate to what she's talking about in the books! It also helps by the way these books are set up in a diary/journal form! I emailed this to you in hope that you could help me in some way! I have a very big (HUGE) favor to ask of you! I was wondering if you knew the best way to get in touch with the author who wrote these books! Her name would be Louise Rennison!

bomberbabe22@yahoo.com
I think that The Agony of Alice and all the books that follow it are great books that talk about teen life.

soclbutterfly@earthlink.net
Rules of the Road, is a book about a teenager taking a road trip, with her 70-year-old boss. She does this to escape the many problems of her life that teens face today. It's a moving story, that you don't want to put down.

Well the book I think that talks about what it is like to be a teen today? Is .... The skin I'm In. The reason why is I think this book best talks about what it is like to be a teen today is because some teens get talked about the color of there skin the why there hair looks and the way they dress. Like The skin I'm In is talking about a thirteen-year-old girl named Maleeka is taunted by classmates for her very dark skin. Then hopes arrives with a new teacher who sees her smart, beautiful and talented. A moving and realistic tale of self acceptance that will speak to every young reader.

Jamelp13@aol.com
well i am a teen and in my perspective i think that the best book is anything to do with love and friendship. i personally love romance novels. all i read is romance novels that have mysteries in them, either that or just regular romance novels. i really need help findin books like these could u help me find some?

Mousey2005@aol.com
I think THE book that talks about what it is like to be a teen is the Chicken Soup books because real teens write to them, and we(teens) read them and think about what these teens wrote about, and how their lives have been.

soccer6318@yahoo.com
The best book I have read that describes life as a teenager today is Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. Though not everyone has an experience similar to Melinda Sordino, Anderson does an excellent job describing what goes on in a teens life.
