Which book would you like to read and discuss with a group of your friends?

no_1_suspects_the_btrfly@yahoo.com
Ok, a books that i would want to discuss w/ my friends are: Go Ask Alice, It Happened to Nancy, and Speak. All three of these stories are heart-wrenching, expecially the first 2. Go Ask Alice explains through a young girl's perspective on drugs, It Happened to Nancy describes the horror of her date rate that ended up ending her life, and Speak proves the torchure ones self can do to you after being raped at a party. All of these tell a story of teenagers that we all could learn about.

If I could choose a book to talk about with my friends, I think that it would the Lord of the Rings. This is an amazing book, with incredible amounts of detail, but I would also want to discuss this book, because there is a lot of talk going on about the Sam/Frodo relationship. I think that this is something that I would really like to discuss, because some people seem to have a problem with this, in that they think the Frodo and Sam's relationship might be gay. In my opinion this would be really interesting to discuss, because I think that the relationship between Frodo and Sam is really beautiful, you know when you are reading the book, that if they were separated, they really just could not make it without the other person there. It's interesting that a lot of people interpret this as a homosexual relationship, and even more interesting that a lot of people have a problem with that. The reason that I find this interesting really is that i just do not understand why it should be such a bad thing if they were gay, it has no bearing on what happens in the story in any way.

I have read many books that I would like to discuss with my friends, but I very interesting one to discuss is The Lords Of Discipline. I think this book is a must read because it deals with many common themes; racism, love, friendship, peer pressure, abuse, trust, fitting in, etc. The reason this would be a great book to discuss with friends is because of its emphasis on friendship.

you asked "which book would you like to read and discuss with a group of your friends?" and I think that book would have to be, Standing in the Light:The Captive Diary of Catherine Carey Logan. It's historical fiction, but to me it's a book you can read over and over again!

I've been hearing rumours about a 21 year old writer who is publishing his book next month and I just saw a peek at the cover and I love the look of it! I'm 17 and getting bored of RL Stine and all that boring rubbish and so I would urge readers to buy 'TeenageMurderBallads' by Paul Gillon when it comes out next month!

Check his website at www.geocities.com/paul_gillon/

I mean it looks like dark fiction and that suits me fine!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. That is the best book ever! It deals with a strong friendship mainly being held together by a pair of pants throughout the summer. It also deals with boys, first love, a little death, and a true heart. It is the best! Your missing out if you don't read it. It's mainly a chick book though!

Also War Comes To Willy Freeman is my favorite book. It deals with war and a girl trying to find her mother. You see, the British take her mother away and Willy wants her back, so she makes an intersting/riskful journey. She gets captured, runs away, and makes many friends along the way. But as she journeies, she has many secrets that she is hiding. Read the book and find out what they are!!

Both Gossip Girl books were great to read and discuss among my friends. They are slightly trashy but their a fun read and were enjoyed by everyone who read them. We had great discussions about who 'gossip girl' actually was.

Its a fab book which is based on four very different friends, which makes it a book that any teen girl would enjoy.
