Cool New Series Updates for December

This month, Simon & Schuster has updated two of their most popular series titles: Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In SOLITARY MAN by Jeff Mariotte, Angel Investigations is about to receive some much-needed help from an unlikely source. And the new Buffy book, THE QUOTABLE SLAYER, is an entertaining collection of quotes from the television show compiled by Micol Ostow and Steven Brezenoff --- a terrific nonfiction companion for all you Buffy-philes.

At the age of 71, widow Mildred Finster, a lifelong fan of "cozy" mystery novels, decides to become a real private detective. She finds a card for Angel Investigations and thinks the name sounds very sweet. Angel and the gang have their own problems to deal with, so when Mildred offers her services, they don't have much time for her. And when a truckload of antiquities from a local mission is stolen, they don't get too worked up over what they think is a simple theft. But the arrival of some ruthless killers from overseas finally gets the gang's attention.
