The Order of the Phoenix 5 stars

The book I have just finished reading is Song in the Silence by Elizabeth Kerner, and I have just started The Lesser Kindred by the same author. These two books are the first two of a series featuring Lanen Kaelar, a courageous adventuress who seeks to reunite her people, the Gedri, with the Kantri, dragons. Once upon a time, these two species were close to each other, but since then have turned into bitter enemies. Song in the Silence details Lanen’s trip to the Dragon Isle, where she befriends and eventually falls in love with Akhor, kind of the Kantri. Sought by an evil demon, she must escape capture and convince the Kantri that Akhor and her were meant to be together. After being horridly wounded in a battle, however, Akhor transforms into a human, and returns to Lanen’s homeland with her. I would give Song in the Silence 4.5 out of 5 stars, because it was a wonderful novel and presents a lovely tale, but some parts are confusing and a few places lack excitement.

I just rad Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. At first, I didn't like the book. It took me about 100 pages to get into it. It's about a man who becomes a vampire. He's telling his life story to a boy who is interviewing him. That much you can deduce from the title. What amazes me about this book, though, is Rice didn't only use the blood sucking vampire effect to capture the reader's interest. This vampire was clinging to his human self, trying not to let his sanity go. I thought his struggle between mortality and immortality was the key element of the book. I would recommend this book to someone that is fairly mature and can appreciate the messages it sends out.

I just finished this book called "Gingerbread" by Rachel Cohn. It's about punk-rock girl named Cyd Charrise who gets kicked out of her boarding school for doing some very bad stuff with her boyfriend. She travels back home to California and meet a boy named Shrimp though her elderly best friend SugarPie. Of course she falls for Shrimp, but soon he puts their relationship on hault because he "needs time for other things". Cyd is deeply depressed and her mom and step-dad decide to send her to New York City to stay with her Real Dad-Frank for the rest of the summer. She meets her half brother and sister and a very cute driver. She learns more about her family history than she could ever imagined. She falls in love, meets her "other" family, and learns some of life's most important ****************

I strongly reccommend this book to anyone who like a good laugh, a little romance, and a hell of a story.

ps12386@yahoo.com
ratings: * - *****. * is the worst and ***** is the best.

Charmed: Something Wiccan This Way Comes by Emma Harrison. This book is better than most charmed books, but it isn't the best one. A demon is killing witches from all different covens and the sisters have to stop him. **

The Big Burn by Jeanette Ingold. This is a great adventure book about fighting the wildfires of Montana and Idaho. It is also historical fiction. ****

The Second Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares. This is one of my favorite books of the summer. I was sad for Lena, but this was still worth reading. I can't wait for the next sisterhood book! *****

Princess in Waiting by Meg Cabot. I waited so long to read this, but it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. The previous ones were better. Mia spent many pages complaining about how she couldn't see Michael, but it did get better in the end and I can't wait to read the next one. ***

The Fearless series by Francine Pascal. These books are about a girl named Gaia who doesn't have the fear gene. She had a crazy uncle, Loki, who wants Gaia so that he can clone her and her father is missing most of the time. I love this series so much, so if you haven't read these books yet, you definately have to. *****

nikki_chick23@hotmail.com
I strongly recommend reading The Wessex Papers trilogy by Daniel Parker. I discoverd an add for the books in a magazine, ordered them, and instantly loved them. The books are set at preppy boarding school on the east coast and have an all star cast of fascinating characters who go through a less than ordinary senior year filled with secrets, scandals, bribery, and much more. These page turners leave you wanting more at the end of each book and have something to offer a wide variety of readers. Due to the great mix of intrigue, romance, and suspence I would give these books a rating of 8.5-maybe a low 9; and coming from a picky reader that is a high honnor. So enjoy!

bla_bla_what_what@yahoo.com

Last month, I read a great book called "Feeling Sorry For Celia" by Jaclyn Moriarty. It is about a fifteen year old girl who lives in Australia, and is told through letters between her and a penpal that she writes to through school (with many 'reality-checks' along the way). It is absolutely hilarious, and totally relatable. I would easily reccommend this to anyone. 5/5 *'s

I have just finished reading "My Not-So-Terrible Time at The Hippie Hotel" by Rosemary Graham. It is such a wonderful book. The characters were so real and I could really relate to them. Once I started reading the book, I couldn’t put it down. It was funny, exciting and entertaining. I felt like I was part of the story. It’s a book for all ages.

Two books I recently read this summer are Hangman's curse and Nightmare Academy both of the Veritas Project series by Christian author Frank Peretti.
They're about twins Elisha and Elijah Springfield who are undercover agents and undertaKE wild adventures to find out the truth about the strange occurences happening around them.
Very gripping stuff. Your eyes will be glued to the book. It has all the ingredients that the best adult thrillers are made up of.
I give these books a five out of a five-star rating.

shkruger@hotmail.com
The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things is a MUST read. 5 BIG *****'s. It really speaks to girls with a weight problem or others with any problems. Funny, yet thoughtful.

ceiana@hotmail.com
I highly recommend The Virgin Suicides... it's an extrememly sad book but the story is written so well that it was hard to put down. I also loved The Pact. It tells the story of a suicide pact between high school lovers gone wrong. When only the girl ends up following through, the boyfriend stands trial for her murder and a completely different story emerges. I can't remember the author but if you can find the book I completely recommend it.

Sushigirl99@mail.com
Out of all the books I have read, this one, I would have to say is the BEST! Angus Thoungs, and Full-Fruntal Snogging by Louise Rennison. This book documents a year in the life of Georgia Nicolson, a teenager from England who is going through a funny and crazy time with her best friends, her fat cat Angus, her Dad, her mom, who is suspected to be having an affair with the decorator, her little sister Libby, and of course a whole pile of boys! Join Georgia and her journal In this tale of Angus, thongs, and Full-Fruntal Snogging.
