I recommendTHE THIEF LORD by CORNELIA FUNKE. This book in about six orphaned children living in an old, abandoned movie theater.  Their money and food is supplied by a person who they call “The Thief Lord”.  One day secrets become revealed that were never meant to be found out and a story of a mysterious merry-go-round becomes unraveled. For the children the courses of their lives will be changed forever. I recommend this book to any teen that likes fantasy. Also to anyone in grade 5 – 8.

The book Ransom by Lois Duncan is about five teens that are kidnapped from their bus on the way home from school. Dexter, Glenn, Bruce, Jesse, and Marianne all have one thing in common, they’re all from Valley Gardens (that’s where the wealthy people live). That’s the reason they were kidnapped. The teens are taken to a cabin in the mountains, miles and miles away from civilization. They forced to stay there until all of the teens parents are contacted and the ransom is paid in full. You never know what’s going to happen until it happens.I really enjoyed this book and if I had to again I would. I was always left in suspense.I recommend this book to all people from the ages of 10 to 110. I give this book 5 stars!!!

War of the Worlds

Is one of the greatest books I have every read. It has some much scientific data that it sounds like it could actually happen to us. But at some part this was a very confusing.  Even though this book can be confusing I still give it 9 out of 10.

Drummerboy942@aol.com
I thought the book Monster was one of the best books that I have ever read. It is a realistic fiction book about a sixteen year old boy who supposedly involved in a holdup and murder at a local drugstore. I would recommend this book to all readers who like to read thrilling and suspenseful books. If I were to rate Monster on a scale from 1-5 I would give it a 4.5.

masta.piece@lycos.com
i would REALLY recommend the book THE OUTSIDERS... it is SOOOOO good... usually, i hate reading books two times in a row... but i read THE OUTSIDERS more than 10 times in a row... without getting bored... and i'm not joking... so i HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT... IT'S THE BEST BOOK AROUND!!!!

lilpiglet1491@aol.com
I am reading Lurlene McDaniel books. If anyone likes a good cry over a great book, she's gonna be your favorite author. I have read all of her books and all of them have inspired me to think what all these teens with tragity in their lives are going through.

And I also like and am recommending to you is this great book called 'Woman in the Wall'. It's about this girl who doesn't want to go to school, so she builds her home in her home's walls. And the only time when she comes out is when everyone is asleep and she fixes stuff. Like washing machines, dish washers, plumbing stuff, etc...
In the end--...well, I'll let you figure it out when you read it.

Rosiemac01@aol.com
The Phantom Tollbooth was a great book.
It makes you laugh and it also makes you realize not to take your life for granted.

odin4444@earthlink.net
I read about The Song Reader in Seventeen.  It is now my favorite book and I recommended it to everyone!!  Leeann is 16 and she lives with her older sister Mary Beth.  Mary Beth does this thing I've never heard of called "song reading."  You tell her a song you keep humming or thinking about and she tells you what it means about you.  Later in the book Leeann falls in love with this great guy, Maniac Mike.  Their prom is the most romantic prom ever.  Try this book and come back and tell me it was great and I was right. =)

Other books I recommend are Second Helpings, Speak, and Perks of Being a Wallflower

btanak857@netscape.net
I read the kingdoms and the elves of the reach. Theyre great and i enjoyed reading them alot. It gets better as you read more and more of it, especially when you get deeper into the stories!

insanitybtch@aol.com
Anything by Judy Blume (Judy Blume is real, true, and amusing. She has an exceptional style)
The Name of The Game Was Murder Joan Lowery Nixon (This is by far, Joan Lowery Nixon's best book. Secrets are hide to keep - especially when they are written down into a manuscript that many do not want to be published...so the author - is murdered.)

The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling (There are absolutely no words for this series. Anyone who has not read it yet should be punished. No summary is needed, J.K. Rowling is more brilliant than Stephen King himself)
Carrie, by the infamously scary Stephen King (A wonderful exhilirating novel about a girl who has telekensis).

I recently finished the book Hard Love by Ellen Wittlinger. It was an amzing book true to the teenage experience but very different. The author carfully lets us see into John' s world.

jigsawgirl@bigfoot.com
Im currently reading The Elf Queen and the King. It's a fantasy, set in a world like Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. It is about the elves trying to save their home from an ancient evil being called Sathar. So far it is more than great, and I give it infinity stars.

The Giver by Lois Lowry
****
Jonas lives in a world of Sameness. A Birthmother brings you into the world and you are given a number. You go on to be Named and a Nurturer raises you until you are a One when you are given to a Family Unit that has applied for a child. That is the way Jonas and the rest of his Community knows life, except for one. Jonas is a Twelve and ready to be given his assignment. What will he be and how will he do? What will he become? Or rather what will become of him?

Anything by Robert Cormier
*****
Robert Cormier has written many novels ranging from the mystery of Fade to the angst ridden Chocolate War books. His stories have touched lives, worked brains and created readers and writers alike. I very highly reccomend all of his books. I have read them all and they're amazing. I Am the Cheese is one of my favorites, but I would die before I was able to pick one.

The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian
**** 1/2
It's hard to explain this amazing book. It's got it all, really. Humor, suspence, love, anger. It's a book for everyone and their mom. It's very anti-consumerism and very good. There's also a website. www.thegospelaccordingtolarry.com (Imagine that) But, the site won't make any sence without reading the book. It's a perfect read for any day.

And to end this all...

The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
*
I know they're classics and I know I should love them, but I don't. In fact, I can't stand them. They're boring, long and...I don't know...Boring. I just don't like them. At all. Nope.

Well, those are my picks! Have fun reading!

Tears if a Tiger is an excellent book. It really shows some of the problems that are troubling teens. I get it 5 stars because you feel with the book. The book is a good book for people to read because it makes you relize that there are people in the world that are worse off than you.

Friciton a novel by E.R Frank
a good book if your around the ages of 12-14 basicly because the characters in the story realate to that age. Informative on touching or as in the book they call it being "perverted".
Over all i would rate it a 3*.
another book that goes beyond a great book is harry potter and the order of the phinox if your into harry potter you are going to love this book
That book I cryed on parts and I  laughed on parts (my teacher gave me detention for laughing so hard and loud)  on a scale of 1-10 it was a 100 times infinity. My sister got me a really good book for my birthday: The year my life went down the loo.

It's realy funny and I think everyone can relate to the protagonist

I love reading the Fearless books. They are fun, susupensful, and definitey out of the ordinary. Gaia Moore is fearless. She has almost no friends and feels that she will deestroy the lives of whoever she gets close to. For example, her friend, Mary, was shot by Gaia's uncle, Loki (who became a maniac, in my opinion). Mary is killed right in front of Gaia, in the middle of the night in a park.
Sure, Gaia is a pretty strange character. What I like about these books is how the author writes how Gaia deals with her emotions and her out-of-control life. She hides them, she tries to ignore them. When they won't go away, she races toward them straight-on to get rid of them. It is very similar to how teenagers today react when they are suddenly hit with change that is out their control.
