Searching for David's Heart by Cherie Bennett is an excellent book. It is the story of Darcy and her brother David. They are best friends.. until David gets a girlfriend. Darcy over hears them talking about her and runs across the street. David follows her but is hit by a car and killed. David's heart was donated to a boy in Flordia and Darcy and her best friend Sam go to Flordia to meet the boy who has David's heart. This story is sad, yet very enjoyable!

The book Knocked Out By My Nunga-nungas, by Louise Renninson is a humorous and exciting book. Georgia, the main character is just a normal teenager living in London. She spends her time hanging out with friends, attending school, kissing her sex god boyfriend, and making a fool of herself where ever she goes. I highly recommend this book to all teenager girls who know what it is like to go to school and make bad choices and embarrass themselves or who just like to laugh at characteristics of others. Enjoy!

Seth is an easy going guy who doesn't have that many hobbies. He does well in school and seems like his life is pretty boring...until he meets Jimmy, the baseball fanatic who would do anything just to make it to the major leagues. Jimmy's powerful leadership and friendship towards Seth gets him up from the sofa and playing baseball during all of his free time. It is no question that Jimmy changed Seth's life, but was it for the better?

katie@jeffbristol.com
These are some t books I have been reading lately. Take note that I don't think many books are horrible. I always seem to find something good in books. :) ( Reviews include stars for grading):

Green Rider by Kristen Britain: This book is definitely the best book there is. With magic, a few really, really bad guys, an exciting heroine who kicks butt, and of course, distant lands with unknown creatures lurking about ....
I give it ****

Zel: Donna Jo Napoli: The book is about Rupunzel, told in a more different and detailed way. This book was....weird. The writing style was...weird. The characters were....weird. To add it all up, it is one weird book.

I give it ** and one half stars.

Girls in Love by Jacqulene Wilson: It was a good book, set in England, about one girl and her two friends. I love the characters and I like learning the lifestyle and dialect of the British. But the main character, Ellie, worried about her weight WAY to much, I think.
I give it ***

Zigzag: This book is one of the greatest books, I think. A girl about seventeen years old goes on a road trip across the country with her two bratty, rich cousins and her aunt. A very funny, entertaining book.
I give it **** all the way!!

I read Athletic Shorts by Chris Crutcher. I enjoyed reading this book because the six short stories were twisted. The character were different from any other book I read. I didn't regret reading this book because I learned appearences aren't everything. A good personality can get you to many places. Chris Crutcher helped me see outside the world than just thinking society is ordinary. It showed me to be thankful of my life and to learn about many people different lives. Also, question how my life is and how can i handle my problems.

I'm currently readnig "The Wolves of Woden" by Alison Baird. It's a prequel to "The Hidden World" and it's really good so far..I'd give it a rating of 4/5 because sometimes it gets kind of confusing (due to the old irish, gaelic and welsh words she uses). Overall, however, it's a very well written book .. and of course I love it because the author is Canadian!

Currently reading "The Pact", by Jodi Piccoult. Amazing book. I'd have to say it's the best book I've read so far, and I've read a great many. There's just so much to learn when reading books... (especially when you're thinking of majoring in journalism/writing..). The thing about "The Pact" is that it touches on the heart without making you break down and cry. (To some people, this book might make you cry... but to me, it falls just short.) If you're looking for sentimental values, this is not the book for you. If you're looking for a mystery without an abrupt ending, this would definitely be something I'd pick up.

I'd give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

CaseyAMoglia@cheerful.com
The Gossip Girl Series is astounding! I am eighteen years old and am a little embarrassed that I learned this is in the "young adult fiction" section. These books follow a hand ful of hoity-toity teenagers living in New York's finest. I must admit i find myself getting a tad jealous as I read, but still can't put them down!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
By: J.K. Rowling Reviewed by: Daniel

This is a great suspense and science fiction book. This book has a lot of new characters like Cho Chang, who is a nice and sensitive person who can look at something and make to big a deal out of it. Every time she talks about something sad she starts crying. One of the main problems are the dreams that Harry is having so Dumbledore sent him to Professor Snape’s classroom to learn how to close his mind to Voldemorts thoughts. Another problem is Professor Umbridge trying to make Hogwarts up to the ministries requirements.

J.K. Rowling is very good at describing the characters and how they act. She describes the characters like they were the back of her hand. Like when Malfoy gets hit and slammed down to the ground by Harry and George.

To me this book is a great one and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a little action and thriller. It also has a little romance in it. It is a little sad, but it is also very good.

HI MY NAME IS TELLAS W., AND I THINK THIS IS A GOOD BOOK BY SHARON DRAPER. SHE BRINGS THIS BOOK ALIVE. I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYBODY WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH ABUSE OR KNOWS SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH IT BEFORE.

SHE HAS WRITTEN THE HAZELWOOD HIGH TRILOGY, WHICH INCLUDES TEARS OF TIGER, AND DARKNESS BEFORE DAWN.

The SETTING IS A BROKEN HOME IN Cincinnati WHERE ABUSE has TAKING OVER THE FAMILY. Gerald’s STEP DAD Jordan, IS AN ALCOHOLIC AND IS ABUSIVE TO HIS WIFE Monique AND DAUGHTER ANGEL.

THIS IS A VERY HURTING AND REAL BOOK, AND THE WAY I FEEL ABOUT THIS BOOK IS OK BECAUSE I KNOW THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE GETTING ABUSED. AND THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN STOP IT ALL.

Sierra W.
Party Girl
By: Lynne Ewing
murder-fiction
This book is a really nice book to read. It really is about a murder that happened to the character's best friend. One night a teenage girl and her friend went to a party that one of her friends was having. They both dressed the same way. They had on skin tight black pants. They felt as if they were a real dancing group. When they got to the party they felt very popular because lots of people were saying, “There go the dancers." So after they walked in about to do their dance. When they finished dancing, they left to go home. While they were walking home, something terrible happened. One of them had gotten shot by someone in a car that was doing a driving by. The author made this story seem realist. I really think that this was a good book to teach us teenage girls about real friends. My name is Sierra W. and I lost one of my friends but it wasn’t a drive by.

Run for your life!
Marilyn Levy
Afro-Americans -Fiction

This is a good book. Kisha is the main character, and she doesn’t believe in herself at first. She doesn’t think much of herself because of where she comes from. Her best friend Natonia has strong feelings about her family. She doesn’t come from a good family either so they have a lot in common. Darren is the coach of the track team. Lureen who is Darren’s wife isn’t thrilled because Natonia comes and lives with them. She doesn’t like it because they don’t have enough room for her to stay.

One of the main conflicts was Kisha's parents fighting. They fought a lot over stupid stuff really. In the beginning, the track team only had about three people on the team. So Kisha and Natonia find people to join the team. They get a lot of people. But now the problem is that they are broke. But at the end, Kisha's mom gives the team her paycheck.

Run for your life is based on a true story. The author Mary Levy has a husband and lives with him in Santa Monica California. Run for your life shows combinations of lot of different kinds of girls that Darren works with.

The Haunted Mask is a great book to read. It is not that scary but if you get into this it will make you want to get to the next page quick. Haunted Mask II is about a boy who stole a mask that was alive, and when he wore it, it started turning him old, really old.

He asked for help from this girl named Carly Beth. She didn’t believe him at first until she saw him. He was old and gray and couldn’t even stand up. So they went back to where he got it, and the man that was there wasn’t there anymore, gone with out a trace. They searched the boxes from which he stole the mask. There were a lot of masks, but when he looked they were gone too. Finally, they open a box with costumes in it and the mask came off.

The book starts off about this boy. His name is Mick. He has a big sister, and her name is Phoebe. They always fight over crazy things. Mick found a tattoo in a cereal box, and he showed it to Phoebe and Phoebe got mad. Then she took it from Mick, and they started to get in a fight. Then their dad came in the room and asked what was wrong. Mick said that he found a tattoo in the cereal box and then he showed it to Phoebe. She got all mad at him then their dad asked Phoebe was it true, and then Phoebe said yes it was true. Mick never did ride a bike without a helmet. He thought he looked like a dork. Then the most tragic thing happened after school one day. Mick asked Phoebe if she could take his bike home because he had to visit a friend. Phoebe said she was sorry but she had soccer practice. He was riding his bike in the middle of the street when a truck hit him and he died. At the end, his father made up some "if onlys" about Mick's accident. I think that this is a g!

Marvin Red Post Alone in My Teacher's House by Louis Sachar
Reviewer Channae R.
The book I am writing about is Marvin Red Post Alone in my Teacher's House. It is about this boy whose teacher asked him to watch her dog because her dog is very old. She does not want to lock him up inside of a kennel while she is gone. She also wanted Marvin to watch her dog because she would not leave Nick alone in her house with a key. The reason she had said that is because Nick is one of the boys that is not at the top of her good list. And he likes to do things he is not supposed to be doing in school. The first Day that Marvin had gone to her house was when she had to give him a tour of her wonderful house and when she had to show him where the entire dog stuff is. That same night when Marvin had gone to her house to take him for a nice cool breezy walk he had also noticed that the dog was very sad. But Marvin did not know. He thought the dog had some kind of very bad sickness. The second day was early in the morning before Marvin went to school. He had also not!
iced that the dog would not eat the only thing for the past two days Marvin had been babysitting it. After Marvin had took him for his morning walk, Marvin went to school wondering what is wrong with the dog. That same day in the afternoon Marvin called his vet, and the vet told Marvin that he was just missing Mrs. Pine. So the vet told him to go out and buy the dog a liver and then cook it for him. When Marvin did that, the dog had eaten the liver as well as some of the dog food. When the dog had eaten all of his food, Marvin left and went home and came back to check on him the next day when he opened the door to Mrs. Pine's house the dog did not come running up to the door to get pet. When Marvin realized something was wrong, and he started calling the dog's name. He was worried. Then when Marvin looked under the bed the dog was laying there dead. So Marvin called the vet, and the vet came and got the dog. That whole day Marvin was so worried that Mrs. Pine was going to !
yell at him and not pay him his whole payment.

The dragon lives on a different island than him. So he has to go on in the jungle and on the way he runs into some other animals along the way. It's Like This, Cat by Emily Neville Fiction
It's like this cat is about a boy who finds and gets a cat out of a cellar. He has a best friend named Tom. Dave and Tom get into a lot of stuff. Like they had to go to the movie with girls they don't even like. So they find a way to stop from going. Tom and Dave like cat and take good care of him.

This book takes place in the city where there is a lot of people like New York City. Other books Emily Neville wrote were The Seventeeth Street and Berries Goodman.

In the middle of the story, Tom and Dave finds Cat in the backyard. He is beat up and has a ripped leg. So Dave took Cat to the hospital and he told the vet, "Cat had gotten into a fight. Could you help him?"

"I will see what I can do," said the vet.

In the end of the story Tom and Mary get married, and Tom wants to go to the army. I think that this book is really good, and it is a good adventure book if you like adventure to read.

I feel that Tom and Dave had real feelings for Cat and never wanted to lose him. And I feel real good about Dave taking Cat to the vet so he could fix him up and make him better.

You should read this book because this would teach you how to take care of something. It is a good book if you like to read it, you should like it.

THE TITLE OF THE BOOK IS BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE
THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK IS KATE DECAMILLO
THE GENRE OF THIS BOOK IS REALIST FICTION. THE CHARACTER IS A GIRL NAMED OPAL SHE LIVES A GREAT LIFE,
BUT HER MOTHER LEFT WHEN SHE WAS 3. OPAL FINDS A DOG IN THE GROCEY STORE. SHE NAMES HIM WINN-DIXIE. THE CONFICTS ARE THAT OPAL THINKS HER DOG RUNS AWAY, BUT THE DOG IS SCARED OF LIGHTENING SO
HE RUNS AND HIDES UNDER THE TABLE. THE SETTING IS IN NAOMI, FLORDIDA. THE DIALOGUE SOUNDS LIKE A VERY REALISTIC
CONVERSATION. THE POINT OF VIEW IS COMING FROM OPAL. THERE IS ANOTHER BOOKS BY THE AUTHOR CALLED TIGER RISING.
I THOUGHT THIS BOOK WAS AWSOME. IF YOU READ IT I KNOW YOU WILL LOVE IT. I LIKED THE BOOK BECAUSE IT WAS FUNNY. THIS BOOK REVIEW IS WRITTEN BY IKEISHA.

Mick Harte was Here by Barbara park
Benjamin Hall reviewer
Realistic fiction

Mick and Phoebe are brother and sister. They can be very nice. But they are not nice to each other. They always get in to fights and yell. They got in a fight over a tattoo. The day after the fight something very bad happened. After school Mick wanted to go to his friend's and asked Phoebe to ride his bike home. But she could not ride his bike home because she had to go to soccer practice. He was going to go with his friend’s mom, but he had to ride his bike to his friend's, and he was frustrated. But then something very bad happened. When Phoebe was at practice she saw an ambulance driving on the road, and it turned the corner. She started to pray that it was not her brother. Then she went to the side lines and sat down. Then the coach ran over to her and said it is your brother. He has been hit by a truck. Then she went to the office, and she had a drink of water. Then Zoe's mom came to pick them up and took them home. Zoe lives across the street from the Harte's hous!
e. When they got home, they went in to Zoe's house. Phoebe was looking out the window, and she started to cry. Then Zoe put her arm around her. I like this story because a tragedy has never happened to me.

The book I recently read was "Scribbler of Dreams" by Mary E Pearson. It is about a young girl fighting to get over the hatred that her family has put their faith in for years. I gave this book 4 stars it was very good.

I recommend Among the Hidden, Among the Imposters, and Among the Betrayed. All these books are by Margeret Peterson Haddix.

They are all excellent books. They take in the future where every family can only have two children because of a world shortage of food. In Among the Hidden and Among the Imposters, a third child, Luke, is the main character.

In my opinion, Among the Hidden is the best of the three. I give it a 10 out of 10 rating.

Among the Imposters, the sequel, was good, but not as great as the first book. Still it had a great plot, some really intense moments, and a big surprise in the book. The ending is definately not what you'd think. I give it a 9 out of 10 rating.

Among the Betrayed was ok, but I feel it didn't really live up to the other two books before it. The main character is not Luke, the length of the book is the shortest of the three, and it was sort of hard to get interested in it at first. I give it a 8 out 10 rating.

All these books are awesome and I really recommend them to anyone who loves a good book.
