Right now, I am reading I Capture the Castle. Written by Dodie Smith. It is a great novel that portrays life of a poor family in the country of 1920's England. With great romances, and troubles along the way.

I am reading Teen Idol by Meg Cabot right now and, of course, since it's a Meg Cabot book, I love it! It reminds me of American Girl and The Princess Diaries in the way that it's written. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I'm reading Speak, by Laurie HAlse Anderson. It's a really good book about a girl in her freshman year in high school. Before school starts, she goes to this high school party, and calls the cops. Nobody is talking to her. Even though she had perfectly good reason to do what she did, (I can't tell you what that is) nobody will hear her side of the story. So she stops talking. The book sort of documents her healing. And it's also about how she learns to express herself through art. I'd recomend it to anybody who lkes droll humor and witty sarcasm.

Twins by Cooney, oh, what a novel! It's so great to see how two twins can keep secrets from everyone, including eachother..4/5

The Secret Garden by Burnett, so much better than the movie! You must read this. I live for this book, 5/5

Nan Meek, RIDING Magazine reviewer, had this to say about
SHOWTIME!
by GAYLE FARMER
...What fun!...her empathy for her characters, and her depiction of their lives, rings true throughout the book. This story abounds with detailed descriptions of teenage life on the 'A' circuit. ...Teenager's world revolves around horses, complete with happy endings for all. My favorite kind of book-horses and happy endings. First in the series, more to come!
Find out more at www.4showtime.com or look for SHOWTIME by Gayle Farmer at www.Amazon.com
This book is a strong 10 if you are looking for a fun read for teens. You'll love it.

I highly recomend Scribbler of dreams by Mary E. Pearson. It is a wonderful book for all teens. The rating is PG13 for adult language. It is a VERY wonderful book and one of the best I read in a long time.
andicarewhy04@yahoo.com
The book I have recently finished is called Smack by Melvin Burgess. I would rate it a 4 out of a 4 because it is probably the best book that I have read in my life time. I recomend it to all of you out there. I know it is about drugs but it is a book that is really hard to even put down. It was 370 pages. The 2 main characters are Tar(David) and Gemma. They run away from their parents together and pretty much fall in love one night at a campfire. After that they go to a party and meet some life-time friends, Lily and Rob, and they go squatting together to find somewhere to fit all of them. Gemma and Lily get pregnant and Lily names her boy Sonny and Gemma names her girl a name that starts with O.

I am reading The Boy Who Couldn't Die by William Sleator.
After his best friend is killed in a plane crash, Ken makes a decision: he will never die. He responds to ad he sees in a magazine which promises "freedom from death." Ken meets with Cherie Buttercup who, for a mere $50, swears that she can make him invunerable to pain and death. Amazingly, whatever she does works. Only there is a catch: During the day Ken is 100% in control of his actions, but once the sun sets and the dreams take over - terrible dreams about killing and being buried a live - Ken becomes a killer. No one can stop him once the dreams take over - he cannot even stop himself.
rzaneski@nypl.org

Harry Potter by JK Rowling. That's all I have to say about that, as it most likely doesn't need a summary. These books are amazing. I've read them all over and over, and still haven't stopped.
Another series I LOVE are the gossipgirl series by Cecily von Zeigsar. These books are about teenagers who are all beautiful and rich. They are allowed to do anything: drink, do drugs, have sex, as long as it doesn't embarrass their family. I wouldn't recommend this book for the younger crowd, but for girls 13 and up, its a great story.
Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. This is an amazing book. Its about this girl, Caitlin, whose older sister has just runaway. Then there's Rogerson. She meets him at a carwash, and falls in love with him. She thinks she knows him, but does she? I would also recommend That Summer and Someone Like You, also by Sarah Dessen.
ambella7@yahoo.com
Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn - 7/10
Just finished this today. It was really fun to read, though kinda short. Heartwarming, a bit cheesy.
Lucky by Alice Seabold - 9/10
Incredible book; totally absorbing. I read half the book in one night, falling asleep at 2 AM. DEFINITELY recommended.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - 10/10
Maybe it's just me, but I totally love this book. Fantasy novels are my favorite, and I could not put this book down... except to go to the bathroom haha. Everyone has to check this book out.
faerywings@gmail.com
I am reading several books at the moment, and have others that I would recommend.
Sohpie's World, by Jostein Gaarder
A history of philosophy, within a philosohpical mystery of a YA fiction book.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Steven Chbosky
Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie is navigating through the strange worlds of love, drugs, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", and dealing with the loss of a good friend and his favorite aunt.
The Saskiad, by Brian Hall
Longing to escape the rundown commune where she lives with her organic-farmer mother, assorted half-siblings, and a cow named Marilyn, the precociously well-read Saskia White, 12, imagines herself the noble contemporary of Odysseus, Marco Polo, and other adventurers. Elaborate fantasies are soon upstaged by her real-life, long-lost father, who leads her and her best friend Jane on a camping trip that turns into an epic adventure of love, sex, and lies.
Dangerous Angels, by Francesca Lia Block
These five post-modern fairy tales chronicle the thin line between fear and desire, pain and pleasure, cutting loose and holding on in a world where everyone is vulnerable to the most excruciatingly beautiful and dangerous angel of all--love.
