This is, by far, the best book I have ever read! It sucks you in and won't let you go! It has become an addiction for me...I've read it around 16 times, and I'm still going for more! TWILIGHT is about a girl named Isabella Swan, who moves to Forks, Washington with her father. She hates Forks until she meets the mysterious and beautiful Edward Cullen. Bloody Jack by Louis A. Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
Wishing to make a life for herself, Mary "Jacky" Faber leaves the streets of London, disguises herself as a boy, and boards the prestine H.M.S. Dolphin as a new cabin boy.
In an exciting novel reminiscent of Stevenson's TREASURE ISLAND and Dicken's GREAT EXPECTATIONS, Meyer exhibits the life of a young girl in search of a place to belong, and the adventures and tribulations that occur along the way.
I highly recommend it!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Rating: 5 Stars
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is one of the greatest books in the English language. First published in 1813, it has continued to be one of the most read and reproduced novels --- even 183 years later. Just recently, it was converted once again to cimematic form. I personally consider it to be one of my favourite books, and I am not the first to highly encourage reading it.

Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 Stars
In the third book in the Overland Chronicles, Gregor, Boots, and crew are up against a seemingly undefeatable enemy: a plague that affects all "warmbloods" or mammals. This book brings new twists and new relationships to the series, and it's a great, engaging, and fast read. Perfect for a reluctant reader or as a read-aloud for younger kids, but also entertaining for readers of all ages. Awesome!!

Young Warriors: Stories of Strength by (edited by) Tamora Pierce and Josepha Sherman
Rating: 5 Stars
I found this book to be amazingly inspirational and empowering. It contains 15 different, fictional stories of young heroes, both male and female. It is easy to relate to the characters, even though their situations often involve magic or monsters. The one theme that this book stresses over everything else is that being a hero isn't being brave; it's doing what needs to be done, even if you are afraid. I recommend this book to all young adult readers.

Specials by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 5 Stars
In this end of the Uglies Triology, I was expecting something awesome, and I got it. Westerfeld is known for his endings of books --- they never end how everyone thinks they will, which is great for an avid reader who guesses most conclusions. SPECIALS surprised me, and although I'm never certain if I like his endings, they bring a different approach on how things end, but really never do.

Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn by Sarah Miller
Rating: 5 Stars
A truly amazing book. It answers all the questions girls have about what guys really think about: sex --- very much so; love --- not so much. The main character, Gideon Rayburn, is witty and smart. You can't help but laugh at his scrambled thoughts, or at his roommates, Cullen and Nicholas. Trust me when I say that you cannot put it down.
Rae
The Seeing Stone by Kevin Crossley-Holland
Rating: 4 Stars
This is an excellent fictional book about Arthur de Caldicot, a boy growing up in the middle ages who finds that he has a strange connection with Arthur Pendragon. This book is exciting and a fast read, and handles the 1st-person point of view well. However, there is an 'ending' but no real 'conclusion,' the story merely breaks off, to be continued in the next book. All in all it's a great read, but look to get all three in the series at the same time, to read the entire story without interruption.

Rating: 5 Stars
This is a really amazing book. It's about a world of Noughts, who are lower class Cacuasian people, and Crosses, who are upper class African American people. The Noughts discriminate against the Crosses and there are big fights and disagreements. Also, Callum --- who is a Nought --- falls in love with Sephy --- a Cross. It's a truly amazing book that will leave you heartbroken. I also recommend KNIFE EDGE and CHECKMATE, which are the other two books of the Noughts and Crosses Trilogy. Go read it NOW!

A modern remake of CYRANO DE BERGERAC, but with a twist. First of all, Frannie is falling for Jeffery and is too nervous to speak to him, but her gay friend Marcus is doing the work for her. The only thing is...Marcus might be falling for him too.
This book was an entertaining remake, confusing at times and didn't have enough detail in my opinion, but I did enjoy reading it and finished it in a couple of hours.

Home-schooled "teen in transition" (not trouble) and self-doubting Alice MacLeod returns in ALICE MACLEOD, REALIST AT LAST as a dramatic, alternative school survivor, with flair for writing and…causing chaos! Susan Juby’s narrative is about discovering and coming to terms with oneself. The emphasis is on Alice’s departure from the disillusioned romantic to the accepting realist.
In the third, calmer installment of Susan Juby’s series, wacky Alice meets all kinds of challenges. Her seventeenth summer is spent juggling three jobs, potential beaus, and corresponding with her mother, (jailed for staging an unwanted environmental protest) all while her ex-boyfriend treks through Europe accompanied by a Swedish supermodel. To make things worse, her new matter-of-fact counsellor doesn’t have a scrap of sympathy for her! So, Alice pens a screenplay, (starring herself) which she hopes will hand her the fame and fortune she desperately needs on a silver platter. However, in the end, Alice realises that it’s not the time for dreams, and faces reality as best as possible.
Alice possesses a witty, sardonic charm, greeting every day with a burst of energy. She has the soul of a true ( sometimes self-absorbed) drama queen. One moment you’re plagued with the sorrows of Alice’s traumatic teenage life, the next minute, you’re laughing uproariously at her antics. Teens meeting Alice for the first time will likely be captivated by this entertaining heroine. Alice’s quirky sense of humour and slightly pessimistic nature is enduring; I can relate to her truthful, gritty comments about life. In my opinion, she bears a resemblance to Louise Rennison’s Georgia Nicholson. Both teens share their diaries, story-telling talent, and the ability to arrive in each scene with a little mayhem and a lot of drama. The difference is that the Alice books discuss issues like relationships, incarceration, harassment, love, jobs, and self-discovery, while the Georgia series focuses on romance.
The book is refreshingly different. Ms. Juby’s writing is raw, true and humorous. It gives us insight into the trials and tribulations of a teenager’s turbulent life. It is reassuring to know that irrational thoughts are common! In writing this novel, Susan Juby inserts scenes in screenplay format, interspersed with pop cultural references, to give us glimpses of Alice’s hilarious masterpiece. The book seemed to screech to a sudden halt, leaving the reader with a vague conclusion of Alice’s screenplay. Personally, I would’ve included a brief entry by Alice explaining her screenplay’s conclusion and tying up the book’s main theme in her own words. To me, this would convey the books’ focus on real life more directly, therefore more powerfully. I’d also add a scene where Alice and Goose (Alice’s ex-boyfriend) communicate their problems, instead of bickering over email.
Nevertheless, ALICE MACLEOD, REALIST AT LAST is a gripping, interesting and laugh-out-loud read. Susan Juby has created a one-of-a-kind character in a set of funny, heart-warming books. I urge teenage girls --- romantic, realistic, or in the middle --- to try this best-selling Canadian book!

White Oleander by Janet Fitch
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the memoir of a foster child. Her mom was an amazing and beautiful poet, who was also estranged. She met a man that she refused to let go, and she went to jail for his attempted murder. Astrid, her daughter, is left to move from foster home to foster home, and is left in the most 'alternative' situations, from a 'reborn' ex-stripper and her hippy husband, to a 'classic' actress and her overworking husband. This book just flows so well. it's pretty much every type of person a girl wonders about portraying, but never actually gets the chance to be.

This is from a series called The Wheel of Time and I think it's one of the best books in the series! It's about a young man, Rand, who has to save the world from the Dark One. I like it the best because it has my favorite charactor in it a lot, Mat!
