The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is so amazing. You come away with a new perspective on life. I would recommend this to teens ages 15 and up because the material can get a little heavy at times. Beware the first two chapters --- they're heartwrenching, but provide a beginning that sucks in the reader and keeps a tight hold throughout. I loved it.

Dicey's Song by Cynthia Voigt
Rating: 5 Stars
You know how your school gives you certain books to read? No offense to the classics, but some are just dull. This one tops all of those and the ones you're interested in. The characters are amazing. I got so into it that I was outside reading in the 40-degree weather and didn't notice. And that's saying something!

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
Rating: 5 Stars
I read this book a while ago and picked it up again when I saw there were plans to make a movie, staring Agnes Bruckner as Vivian and Hugh Dancy (some of you may know him as Prince Char) as Aiden.
Vivian, our heroine, must choose between what's best for her pack, her family, creatures like her, and Aiden --- the sensitve and curious meat-boy who could never understand the creature she is. Werewolves, love, and betrayal... what more can you ask for in a book?
Megan

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is about kids who become mutants. Parents give their kids to this laboratory, where the owners turn the kids into mutants (they don't take off parts, just add from other animals). Eventually, the kids run away. I don't want to give the story away, so you'll have to read it to find out what kinds of troubles these kids go through.
I gave this book four stars because every book could improve some (otherwise it would be a five).

Rating: 5 Stars
I got this book from the library, and have already read it around 5 times just this week. I didn't want it to end. The adventure in it is amazing, and is something that you too could go through, so it can also contain some advice. It was very well done, very light.

Monster by Walter Dean Myers
Rating: 4 Stars
This is very good. You wouldn't want to put it down. This novel is about 16-year-old Steve Harmon, who is put on trial for association in a felony murder. The book is written in a movie format. Throughout the book, Steve writes journal entries about his feelings on the trial and how it is in jail. The reason Harmon is on trial is because he is the 'supposed' lookout for a convenience store robbery, which resulted in the death of the store owner. But before the actual robbery took place, Steve left. You start seeing that Steve is not a monster, which he was refered to by the prosecutor, but will the jury see the same thing?

A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whilcomb

I really like the way it is written. The words, in my opinion, are kind of poetic and really what you would hear from the main character. I like the way it protrays a different definition of a ghost.

Wicked by Gregory Maguire

Witch Dreams by Vivian Vande Velde
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a really great book about 16-year-old Nyssa, who lost her parents when she was 10. She is a witch with the ability to see into other people's dreams when she takes a small token form them. She wants to know who killed her parents and has the ability to. It has a suprise ending and I would give it 5 stars, but it was only 120 pages, and for me, that is to short. But overall, it is a great book.
Jeanie
Eragon by Christopher Paolini
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the best book ever! Eragon finds a dragon and must go on an epic journey to complete what he has started. This book is like J.R.R Toiken's Lord of the Rings, only better. If you liked this, read ELDEST, book 2 in the series.
psychmaid88
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
Not as good as VAMPIRE KISSES. It's okay, but throughout the whole book, Edward's like, " Oh, wait! I must leave you." (Dramatic turn) "Oh, but I can't, I LOVE yo-ou!" Jeez, whatever. At least VAMPIRE KISSES is more fast paced. It takes Edward and Bella half the gosh-darn book for a peck on the cheeck?! Lame!
Don't get me wrong, I totally love this book. But come on! Meyer only makes it worse in the sequel, unfortunatly. (Read my other review below for details)...

Rating: 4 Stars
A very interesting and smart book. It's probably the only book I've read where I've actually read the footnotes!
Kaylan
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
TWILIGHT was amazing. It opened my mind completely. Before TWILIGHT, I never read a single book. It never crossed my mind, and at the age of 13, that was pretty sad. But when my friend Taylor said 'Read this you'll love it!', I knew she was wrong, but something in me was like 'read it, Kaylan, read it!'
So, I took Taylor's advice, and as obbsessive as this may seem, I'm reading it for the fourth time. What's weird is that it's in my lap and I am reading as I wait for my computer to load. I truly love this book, if there is anything in this world I would like to do is say thank you to Stephenie Meyer for changing my life completely. Thank god she had that dream...

This book captured me just by the back cover. It's about a girl who prefers fantasy over reality. In her fantasy world she plays an online game until she is practically defeated and chooses to stop. Suddenly, she realizes someone in the game is near her. She finds him and the two make up a game of their own. In the end, reality plows over her whether she wants it to or not. I loved it, so I'm sure there are others who will, too.

The End by Lemony Snicket
Rating: 4 Stars
It's a great book, but it does not answer all of the questions you have about V.F.D. and the orphans friends and family, so don't get too excited about the last book. I think Lemony Snicket will do another book or two to answer the rest of the questions he didn't answer, even though it is called THE END.
