Morgan
Bad Prince Charlie by John Moore
Rating: 3 Stars
When Charlie's father suddenly dies, his 2 uncles make Charlie king. Charlie didn't want to be king until his uncles told him he'd be able to marry Lady Catherine. His uncles plan to sell out the country of Damask to Noile, but things don't go quite as planned.

Emily
Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy by Ally Carter
Rating: 5 Stars
If you thought I'D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU BUT THEN I'D HAVE TO KILL YOU was amazing, you'll be astounded by how much better its sequel is. There are harder assignments, cooler characters, and more action-packed, suspense-filled scenarios. Also there's a new hottie, not that Josh is gone..., but seriously awesome! Check it out!

Em
Idol Girls by Hayley DiMarco
Rating: 1 Stars
This is a really annoying book. It talks about how you cannot be passionate about things because then you are replacing God. I only read it because I won it.

Kaylee
Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story by Benjamin S. Carson and Cecil Murphey
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a truly amazing story. it is inspiring to know that through all of Ben Carson's hardships, he made his dreams come true. It is the most inspiring book I have ever read.

Rachel
Mexico by Melody Carlson
Rating: 5 Stars
I felt like I was taking a vacation and enjoying a great book at the same time.

Jessica
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul by Jack Canfield, et al.
Rating: 5 Stars
I'd recommend ALL of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul books. When your reading the stories submitted by other teens you just can't help but say, "Wow, you know, I've been through that. I didn't think anyone else would know how it feels." You can really relate with the stories, and even when you can't, they touch you in a way that's unexplainable. You cry, laugh, and even gape at the amazing stories in these books.

Rachel
Papua New Guinea by Melody Carlson
Rating: 5 Stars
I love her writing and this book showed why. I have a new respect for this little country because of this book.

Lenni
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
TWILIGHT never ceases to amaze me. This is the fourth time I've read it, almost forcing me to make a website, Yahoo! Group and myspace community for it. The poignant and descriptive writing puts you in a beautiful, visual world of romance, drama, mystery and amazement. This is not simply a book about vampires.

Rachel
Summer by Karen Kingsbury
Rating: 5 Stars
I fell in love with these characters from the first book(FAME) and love them still. They're like a second family.

Jessica
Define "Normal" by Julie Anne Peters
Rating: 5 Stars
Two words: Amazing book! I got so into this book that I read it in less than a day. You can really connect with the two main characters. There are some traits of Tone (MC) and some traits of Jazz (MC) that you just fall in love with. I just couldn't get enough of this book and when I finished reading it, I was like, "Dude! No come on! I need more! It's too good to end!" Even if you have no idea what the characters are going through, and you can't relate, you really feel like you understand by the end of the book.

Anna Pierce
The King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the third book in a series and has become one of my favorites. THE ATTOLIA is written with craft and suspense that wouldn't let me put it down. Turner is a wonderful writer who tells an great story with splendid characters.

Anna
The Joy Luck Club by Any Tan
Rating: 5 Stars
THE JOY LUCK CLUB tells the stories of four Chinese, American-born, girls and their mothers from China. It's about the hopes, dreams and memories of these eight women and is written by a very talented writer.

Rachel
Ireland by Melody Carlson
Rating: 5 Stars
I fell in love with the characters, story, and with Ireland. It felt like I was reading a tour guide book and want to go their now.

Jake
World War Z by Max Brooks
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is an "oral" report of the Zombie war. The story is tied together by various interviews of survivors of the war. which is different from the ordinary one person's view of the story. However, instead of the interviews being patched together, they all relate, they cover every aspect of the war, and are group to together a time periods. This book appeals to all types of readers --- it is suspenseful, exiting, and action packed. After and during the war, you see civilization reverting to its old ways. The use of medieval weapons, firing lines, and the value of manual labor all help to envision this aspect of the book. All in all, it was a well-written page turner and I seriously recommend it.

Brett
The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan
Rating: 4 Stars
This was a great book! It is set in the present- day world, but with mythical creatures. Even if you aren't into Greek gods, you will enjoy this book's great storyline. Also, it is really funny!

Emmaline
Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke
Rating: 4 Stars
Very good. It's an easy read that has dragons, which, personally, I love.

Lily
Tithe by Holly Black
Rating: 4 Stars
When 16-year-old Kaye moves to her grandma's house, she is moving back to where she has friends, human and faerie. TITHE follows Kaye as she finds out who she is, then plays a role in the fight between the Seelie and Unseelie Courts that may kill her. Amazingly, in between all of this, she manages to fall in love. I give this book four stars because it is a great read and it's very entertaining.

Carson
Best Friends for Never by Lisi Harrison
Rating: 5 Stars
The Clique's sequel, BEST FRIENDS FOR NEVER, is one of those books you can't put down until you’re done. I sat at the kitchen table all day until I was done. I was endlessly intrigued by the feeling of "what's going to happen next." The main character, Massie Block, is the leader of the pack and she hears a rumor that someone is trying to take her spot. She immediately starts fighting for her position back by throwing a boy-girl Halloween party. In order to hold the party Claire and Massie had to convince their parents that they were friends. This story is about how Claire and Massie pretend to bond in front of their mothers. They go shopping together they design the new school uniform, and wear the same skimpy Halloween costumes. But one of my favorite parts of the book is when Claire and Massie like the same guy, but the guy like Claire. It shows how Claire is just as attractive as Massie. This part of the book also keeps me wondering how Massie will react. This series is addicting, as soon as you read the first book you're ready for the second. This is great for readers who love gossip. I hope all the rest of the Series are as good as the first two!

Carrie
Sealed With a Diss by Lisi Harrison
Rating: 3 Stars
This book was good, but not as good as the others in the series. Not much happened, except for them being passed down the room from the eighth graders. There was also the secret boy camera in the room where they had secret discussions about their feelings. Yeah, right! Lots of teen romance difficulties were happening too. For instance, Massie and "Derrington"'s little secret, which was not revealed in the book! Guess we'll have to wait until THE BRATFEST AT TIFFANY'S comes out next year! Claire also found out some things about Cam....While she was going through his backpack in the pizza place, she found some printed out conversations with a girl named Nikki. Woah, what a two-timer! Well, at least that's what Claire thought. But later in the book we find out that Cam is not interested in Nikki, by looking at her Myspace. There was some action, but you will find this appealing if you are into love problems and boyfriends' secrets....

Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick
Rating: 5 Stars
I think that Jordan Sonnenblick has to be one of the best authors ever. I loved this book. I think that it shows how one man and his brother bond and eventually become impossible to break apart. Cancer is a hard thing to deal with in a family, and the way that Jordan makes it look difficult really inspires me to want to help anyone with cancer, etc. I only wish that I could hear Steven play his drum solo, and know that Jeffrey is going to be better.

Iman
Nothing But The Truth (and a Few White Lies) by Justina Chen Headley
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a book about a Patty Ho, girl who doesn't fit in with her potluck group of her cookie cutter white friends. She meets a guy who she thinks her mom wont blow up at. Then mom storms math camp. Is Patty toast or will her aunt and friends manage to save the day?

What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson
Rating: 4 Stars
Very mind-opening, thought-provoking book. This is a novel about the afterlife, with a sweet little love story tied into it.

Robby R.
When I Was Little by Jamie Lee Curtis
Rating: 3 Stars
This book was about a four year old comparing herself to when she was younger (2 years ago), and how she is "a big girl" now. it was very cute how the little girl would make up words when she was little like "suppelllhoo" but now she can actually talk since she's 4 whole years old and she can say "complete sentences."

Jake
World War Z by Max Brooks
Rating: 5 Stars
This was a great book. Instead of the book being about the war in general, it is about the views of many people. Every chapter deals with an aspect of the war, and overlaps throughout the book. I really recommend it.

Ian
The Wit & Wisdom of Discworld by Stephen Briggs
Rating: 5 Stars
Stephen Briggs did an extraordinary job summarizing the essence of Discworld. There is such an austere quality to Terry Pratchett's writing that never seems to get old. Though there are times when his books seem adventurous and are edging towards being serious, Terry Pratchett seems to always snap out of whatever has taken control of him, and adds yet another quote that will make you laugh, whether you are 12 or 80. I simply love this book, which brings together all the qualities that we love in Terry Pratchett's writing.

Caroline
Bad Boy by Walter Dean Myers
Rating: 3 Stars
BAD BOY was about a boy who, as a child, was a rebel. He had trouble finding himself and his future in his teenage years and had to work for his grades. He often skipped school, and in order to go to college, had to work extra hard the last chances he had. In the end , he learns his lessons and he is a successful writer today.

Emy
Eragon by Christopher Paolini
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is awesome. It took time to get into it, but once you do, you can't leave it out of your sight!

Money Hungry by Sharon G. Flake
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a great book; you should read it. It is interesting and you learn different ways of making money.

Katie
Assassin by Anna Myers
Rating: 4 Stars
This book was pretty good. It's about President Lincoln's assassination. It's sort of freaky, but for the most part it's a very well-written book.

Katie
Miracle on 49th Street by Mike Lupica
Rating: 5 Stars
I LOVED this book! The ending is great! I would recommend it to people who like sports books, or just happy endings. It's great.

Carole K.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Rating: 5 Stars
A novel meant for those who are able to understand the concept of the old days of England, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is a love novel meant for those who adore the ups and downs of romance. As I read this for the first time, I realized that, indeed, I could be Elizabeth Bennet, and understand why she was prejudiced towards Mr. Darcy's prideful nature. Only once the cloud has settled, and the issues you are trying to discover can truly tell whether the person you might love is right in front of you. Jane Austen is one of the greatest writers of all time, and I truly believe that you should pick this book up as soon as possible. Even if you are too young to understand the concept of the novel, you could always read it over and over, and never be bored.

Caroline
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Rating: 5 Stars
I know it's already been reviewed, but as this is my seventh time reading this book, I can honestly say that it's beyond amazing and culturally insightful to Nazi Germany. It follows a young girl who discovers a passion for books and reading, and although that sounds corny, it's definitely not. She also has to deal with the death of her brother, separation from her mother, and keeping the secret that there is a Jew hiding in the basement. It's told from the unique point of view of Death and is sprinkled with his comments on the plot, and life in general. Zusak really comes through with his own voice in the writing in a novel style that i hadn't experienced until THE BOOK THIEF. Seriously, go buy it.

Anmorita
The Diary of Anne Frank by Otto H. Frank
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is packed with everything a book needs. In it, you'll find it relates to you in some way and fills your heart with joy, hurt, and tears. It teaches you to appreciate everything given to you in life. This book may have taken place a long time ago, but can relate to some of what's happened in today's world. Anyone will have a blast from this book.

Emory
The Kidnapping of Christina Lattimore by Joan Lowery Nixon
Rating: 5 Stars
I enjoyed reading this book because it is full of action and suspense. When Christina is kidnapped, the kidnappers lock her in a dingy, old basement. At first, Christina doesn't know why they had kidnapped her, but later on, it becomes apparent. When the kidnappers are about to set her free, they make her walk throughout the house touching random things and then make her clean up and look like everything is normal. Police barge into the house and the kidnappers say that Christina had orchestrated her own kidnapping because she was mad at her parents for not giving her money for a class trip. She goes home and her parents believe that too. How far will Christiana go to prove her innocence?

Cameron
Mao's Last Dancer by Li Cunxin
Rating: 4 Stars
This was an amazing book. The details of how he was poor and barely had enough to feed his family were heartbreaking. It was also sad that Chairman Mao made up the communist idea of the US being a terrible, dirty country. However, when he came to the US and fought for his beliefs of being free, that gave the book a much happier ending. He started off poor and starved and ended up being one of the most amazing dancers in the nation. That great determination, showed in this book, can give anybody the belief that anyone can be anything that they want to be if they only try and work hard to achieve their goals.

Kaitlyn
The Man Who Was Poe by Avi
Rating: 5 Stars
This book didn't jump out at me at first, and the cover looked a little scary. I would recommend this book 100% because the suspense is unbelievable! I couldn't stop reading it, even if my eyes were burning because of how tired I was. I couldn't stop no matter what I did.

Kaitlyn
The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was really good and I had trouble putting it down. I don't think I've ever read a 345-page book in 2 days until now.

Dani
Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson
Rating: 4 Stars
Great book! It's the first of a trilogy and i am in the middle of the second book now! Filled with action and suspense, it keeps you reading!

Khushali
The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is a wonderful story that takes me to a whole other world. It has everything from unique creatures to amazing adventures. When I pick up this book I cannot put it back down. It keeps me up all night wondering whats going to happen next. This is a great book.

Katie
If I Have a Wicked Stepmother... by Melissa Kantor
Rating: 3 Stars
At a certain point in the book, I could totally see how it was going to end. However, the ride getting there was fun and quick. I will recommend it to some of my readers who can't get enough romance in their systems.

Annie
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
It is a convincing and realistic Romance with added drama on the side.

All 3 books in this series have been page-turners! To be able to keep up the action, suspense, intrigue, drama for three books is exceptional. I would truly recommend them to anyone who loves reading!

Rating: 3 Stars
Tim's brother, Sam, joins the patriot army even though Tim and his father are loyalists. They don't even know if Sam is alive or dead. A great historical fiction book.

Morgan
America by E. R. Frank
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a book about a boy named America. All his life, he's felt like nobody wants him, but Dr. B cares more about America than America cares about himself. Dr. B is determined to help America, no matter how long it takes.

Elise
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
Rating: 5 Stars
This was the best book in the world. I loved it, but the language was very flowery for teenagers. It was long, but had an awesome ending, and was worth the read.

Kristen
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is set in China and describes how these poor girls have to bind their feet, as well as how they experience friendship, betrayal, and learn about life experiences. In 19th-century China, seven-year-old Lily learns about life and the hardships that she has to overcome. She meets Snow Flower, her laotong, or “old same”, from a nearby village. These two girls create an everlasting friendship that brings them close together. They both learn the ancient language nu shu, a poem written on fans or handkerchiefs only by Chinese women. They send secret messages to each other without Chinese men interfering, but they must never know about the secret language. Lily and Snow Flower help each other through the pain that they suffer, including deaths in the family, arranged marriages, and many more life experiences. These two girls experience what many Chinese women do, such as the painful and agonizing foot binding, which will determine your social class, depending on how big or small you feet, are. Lily and Snow Flower go on a journey to womanhood, which will change their lives forever.

Kristen Wong
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
Rating: 3 Stars
This is a novel about World War I and how horrifying it is to experience fighting in the war. Paul Baümer and his fellow classmates have just hear Kemmeriche’s (teacher) motivating speech on conscripting for the war. Kemmerich tells them how glorious, noble, and honorable it is to fight in the war and support Germany. Paul and his classmates are greatly motivated by his speech and go enlist in the German army during World War I. They are so happy and excited to be able to fight in the front, but do not know the horrors that await each and every one of them. Their youth disappears while they kill enemies for survival. They either kill the enemy or get killed by the enemy. Paul and his classmates’ dreams have been taken away from them and shattered this belief when they start fighting in the war. Kemmerch’s stories and speeches did not compare to what these poor teenagers had to face on the front. In the war, Paul and his comrades see enormous amounts of bloodshed and deaths that that do not even compare with Kemmerch’s stories. Their classmates and other soldiers die in pain, suffering until death. Their way of thinking has been completely distorted from being schooled and logical to being animalistic and primitive.

A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott
Rating: 4 Stars
Pretty good. This is a story about an obsessive stalker. Its writing style isn't my favorite, though, because I like more modern styles of writing.

Candy
Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
Rating: 5 Stars
This is one of my favorite books. It is the sequel to A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY. I can't wait to read the next book, THE SWEET FAR THING.

Candy
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson
Rating: 4 Stars
A really good book.

Aishah
The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice
Rating: 4 Stars
This book touches so many aspects of our human lives! It actually makes us appreciate our "mortal" lives as we read about the desires of the vampires, the struggles they have to go through because of their immorality. This book may be a bit slow in the beginning, but pretty soon, you are caught up in the crazy battle between good and evil, desire and reality. A great, eye-opening read.

A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY and REBEL ANGELS by Libba Bray
Rating: 5 Stars
I'm, once again, rereading both of these books (not at once) in the Gemma Doyle series. Since I obviously --- or perhaps hopefully --- love these books, I'm going to, of course, recommend them to you. Now, why on Earth do I enjoy these two books so much? I love the idea of possibilities in a next-to-impossible world, the belief in something higher than what is offered, the truthfulness of reality, the reality of truthfulness, and the never-ending boldness followed by a bit of tediousness. Okay, I know I haven't told you a thing about the book yet, just my opinions of it. So, here's the summary you've been waiting for, probably along with your English teacher: A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY Gemma Doyle, a sixteen-year-old girl growing up in the Victorian age, has a sudden twist of fate one day. She and her mother are in India --- their home country --- shopping, when her mother is murdered. Gemma is separated from her mother and therefore has no idea who it was done be, correct? No, that's not correct. While Gemma Doyle wasn't at the scene of the crime, she still saw everything that happened through a vision. She saw her mother kill herself because there was no better alternative. She doesn't know how she brought about this vision, or more correctly stated, how the vision brought upon itself. After this event, she is shipped off to a boarding school in England, the place she's dreamed of going to, by her family. (They think it will teach her how to become ladylike.) When Gemma arrives there, though, she quickly realizes England is not what she thought it would be, and her visions now are becoming more frequent. With her newfound friends, Gemma takes her powers to new levels. What is she to do though about Circe, an enemy out to get her (and her little dog too); the Rakhasha, a group very interested in powers; her family, who do not understand her or wish to; her friends' problems; and how is she to deal with all of this while attending a British boarding school? I won't say anything about the next book for now, because I wouldn't want to spoil anything for you. The characters are intriguing, as is the plot, the setting, and all else in the book. I strongly encourage and recommend you at least give these books a try.

The Blue Girl by Charles de Lint
Rating: 4 Stars
I'm currently reading THE BLUE GIRL by Charles de Lint. It's somewhat hard to follow, because the beginning makes it seem like it will be a realistic fiction book, but it is actually very fantastic.

I loved it! It's definitely much better than the first four, not that the first four were bad. It's just that this one's better. So hurry up, get this book, and strap on your seatbelt! That might not even hold you down on this adventure.

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
Rating: 5 Stars
This book had a great little quotes on faeries to start off each chapter. Also, I like Seth, one of the characters, more than any supporting character I can think of --- in any book ever. I loved the mythology of this book and can't wait until Marr comes out with her new book, INK EXCHANGE.

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
Rating: 5 Stars
I gave this 5 stars because this book is so good I could read it 5 times in one week. It has a good plot that keeps you hooked and gives you some romance mixed with adventure and fantasy --- just the combination i love best. It's definitely worth 5 stars, or 10.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Rating: 5 Stars
this book is awesome and i can't wait to see the movie when it comes out in December.

Lindsay
The Professor by Charlotte Bronte
Rating: 4 Stars
This book, written approximately two years before the author wrote JANE EYRE, is superb. It carries the themes that all Jane Eyre lovers have adored --- love, sacrifice, morality, and good old-fashioned romance. My only complaint is the rampant untranslated French throughout the dialogue. For a French student, this dialogue would be good practice, but it would only be a stumbling for a Spanish student like myself.

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

Ginger Pye by Eleanor Estes
Rating: 3 Stars
GINGER PYE is a cute story about the Pye family who gets a puppy. The kids are super excited to have this puppy and forget to name it. Their mother suggests the name Ginger. Throughout the novel, Ginger Pye goes on little dog adventures that are from his point of view. Then, he gets stolen, and the Pyes can't find him. This is as far as I have read. This book is close to a second-grade reading level, but is interesting anyways.

And, so far, this has been the best one! It's seriously amazing! It's the 3rd one in the series, and the 4th one is on its way (I ordered it from amazon.com). I'm super excited! xoxo, Katie

Atonement by Ian McEwan
Rating: 5 Stars
The prose was the best I have ever read. Intertwining the fates of three different characters bound by one horrible crime, the narration takes us through wealth, war, guilt, and redemption. The novel was very character driven, and although the setting was usually bigger than the person could control, it was the force of the three incredibly complex protagonists that drove the story forward. A breathtaking love story, a war tale, and a study of betrayal, ATONEMENT was the best book I have read in months.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This has to be one of the best books i have ever read. It is easy to connect to. A girl finds love, but her love is a vampire...a vampire who thirsts for mostly her blood. He does everything in his power to love her and hold her even if the scent of her blood drives him crazy. In addition, being with him puts her life in danger because of other vampires. Oh, and did I mention some vampires have special powers? Who wouldn't want to read something so romantic, and yet thrilling as that? Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. I don't even have much time and I ended being able to read each of the three books in two days.

The Secret Country by Pamela Dean
Rating: 5 Stars
The first novel in a trilogy, Pamela Dean's expertly woven fantasy is way more fun and complicated than you'd first guess. At first, I was turned off by the young ages of the main characters, but there is such depth in this story and so many layers to peel back --- Iove it! I officially read it for the second time, and I'm already ready to make it three! Try it for yourself!

Shug by Jenny Han
Rating: 3 Stars
What would you do if you suddenly like your best friend? What if he doesn't like you? Thats what this story is about. Shug, a 12-year-old girl, has fallen in love with her best friend Mark, a 12-year-old boy. Shug is also having some other problems. Her mom and dad act as if they want a divorce, Shug is given the task to tutor the person she hates the most, her sister has an awful boyfriend, and Mark likes her sister and not her. Shug is having a hard time but when she finds out that the person she doesn't like has about just as many problems as she does, she soon finds she likes him more. I would recommend this book to mature readers who like romance. I think this story was okay, but a little boring. Some people don't like stories with much action. this is one of those stories.

Rayanne
Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a great book to read if you like a lot of action. It is also awesome if you like a long story with a lot of strange characters that can connect to the people in your regular everyday life. The mythical creatures in this book are really unpredictable, from there names to their personalities, and strengths and weaknesses. Even if you think that mythical creatures are weird and this book would be stupid, you're wrong because that is what I thought from the beginning, but I soon found out that I was wrong. This book really surprised me and it showed me not to underestimate anything, even a book, because you could be wrong.

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is about an odd girl named Stargirl, who goes to Mica Area High School. The narrator is a boy named Leo, the director for the school's show called "Hot Seat." His best friend Kevin wants to put Stargirl on "Hot Seat" but Leo doesn't want to. But then, Stargirl becomes the most popular girl in school. She is a cheerleader and she is very wierd. She plays the ukelele, has a pet rat, goes to funerals for people she doesn't know, cheers for the other team when they score a touchdown, sings "Happy Birthday" to people she doesn't know, and makes up really weird cheers. You will have to read the book to see what happens with Stargirl. I recommend this book to girls who love books about weird people who become very popular, but still keep their weirdness. The age range I would say, is 6-13.

The Steps by Rachel Cohn
Rating: 5 Stars
I gave this book a 5 because it was very interesting. It is about this girl, Annabel, who lives in New York City and goes to visit her father and the steps [which are her step sisters and step brother]. Shes not happy about traveling around the world to see them. When she gets there, she doesn't feel like her other half of the family [dad's new side] likes her and doesn't consider her part of their new family and treat her as just a guest. She also misses her home in N.Y.C. She wants to go home early for New Years. But her father might not let her. He wants her to spend the hoilday with them. Annabel is really confused about what to do.

Enas
The Terrorist by Caroline B. Cooney
Rating: 4 Stars
This book was very nice, but small parts of it I did not enjoy. I did not enjoy the vivid description of Billy wrapping himself around a bomb and then it exploding, sending him flying (in pieces of course), or when they started talking anti-Muslim. Other than that, I loved the plot of this story and I could make many connections to it using metacognition.

Sandcastles by Luanne Rice
Rating: 4 Stars
My mom read this book and she said it's about family relationships and issues. I was curious about it and decided to read it myself. The book is relaxing but I thought the first half was repetitive. Then it got interesting towards the second half of the novel as events escalated. For the first half, you kept reading over and over this one particular important incident that everyone talked/thought about. Hence, the repetition was dull.

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
I wasn't able to put it down! I would have read the entire thing at one time, except that I had school. My friends were laughing as I read it walking down the hallway! It's about 18-year-old Bella who's boyfriend, of course, is a vampire. He's not the normal dies-when-he-goes-into-sunlight or turns-into-a-bat-at-will kind of vampire. But, he's still dangerous. Then there's the whole choice between either her boyfriend or her best friend, who happens to be in love with her. And of course, she also has an army of blood-sucking vampires out to kill her.... Anyway, this book is awesome and I can't wait for the fourth in the series.
