Katherine
Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was amazing. I love all of Sarah's books, but the latest installment was really good.

Kat
Bloody Jack series by L. A. Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
The Bloody Jack books are one of my all-time favorite series. The books are filled with adventure, romance, suspense and pirates! I found this book when i was in Historic James Town, Virginia. Th name popped out at me because at the time, my friends and I had been writing our own pirate stories and we all had made ourselves into pirates; my pirate name was Bloody Kate, so the name Bloody Jack was like a neon sign! And when I found out Jack was a girl, I was even more surprised. It's a great series to read if you're into historic novels or you just love reading about someone else getting in trouble for a change. I recommend this book to guys and girls. It's very good and I'm so glad I found it. So far, there are 6 books but I don't think they will be lonely for long. L. A. Meyer is writing another. I hope you read them!

Meg
All the King's Men by Robert Penn Warren
Rating: 4 Stars
An amazing book.

Jacqi
The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was absolutely amazing!! it is possibly my favorite book, ever.

Kriss
The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong
Rating: 4 Stars
This novel brought on suspense and twists from unexpected angles. I would love to read a sequel to this.

Katie
When It Happens by Susane Colasanti
Rating: 4 Stars
This book was very funny and romantic, with some music thrown in. An overall great book.

Medens
Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is told only in letters and is very awesome. It makes you think, cry and feel things you've never felt before. You experience different twist throughout the book but it all ends out the way it should. It is a must read! I highly recommend it.

Eleine
The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
Rating: 5 Stars
I'm reading on the seventh volume and it very interesting. I really like it, and recommend it to those who like romance (a little). The Princess Diaries< series has 10 books.

Alex
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling
Rating: 5 Stars
An amazing book that ends the epic tale of Harry Potter with no disappointments whatsoever.

Blackroze
Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr
Rating: 5 Stars
Love the book. I hope she continues the series for quite some time. She has the best imagination.

Alex
Private by Kate Brian
Rating: 5 Stars
I absolutely love this book. When I read it, I wasn't sure why, but I could not put it down. It has a great storyline, believable characters and you really get in Reed's (the main character) mind as she goes through some unexpected challenges at Easton Academy.

Angela
Soulless by Christopher Golden
Rating: 4 Stars
I was at the library the other day, looking for a good book to read as I am bundled up in front of the fireplace, when I found SOULLESS. If you find medians and zombies mixed into one book, then you will love SOULLESS. So check this book out and see what happens when dead people come back to life!

Booklover
Forever Princess by Meg Cabot
Rating: 5 Stars
I read FOREVER PRINCESS and it was great. Meg Cabot ended our beloved series well. The first book amazed us just like the last. This series is hilarious, but sometimes it makes you sad, and sometimes you can be shocked by the events. These books taught us many lessons. We should be true to ourselves and learn to value everything. I will really wait for the return of Mia.

Katie
Revelations by Melissa de la Cruz
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a really good third book in the Blue Bloods series, but I have to say that the first two were a little bit better. But, I am looking forward to the fourth one, which will be out sometime this fall. Fans of Twilight will like these, but they are definitely very different books. This series has a little bit more fighting and a little less romance, but still very good.

M. G.
The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was amazing! It's about a girl who is trying to overcome severe anxiety attacks by seeing a shrink who makes her write in a journal about all the boys she's ever liked or dated. The journal entries then usually include some foreshadowing into what will happen next in the plot and are usually humorous. My friends and I highly recommend this book. THE BOYFRIEND LIST also has a sequel called THE BOY BOOK.

Kelly
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
Rating: 5 Stars
I'm don't really read a lot of books that have male leads. As a girl, I tend to read books with strong female characters, but John Green has changed my mind. This book is funny and smart, and the lead, Colin, sounds like a true Nerdfighter. I loved reading from a male's perspective how they think, their take on how girls act, and why they do the the things they do.

Live2Give
Brisingr by Christopher Paolini
Rating: 5 Stars
I've been waiting a long time to read this. I haven't had much time, but when I have, I turn to my book and it doesn't disappoint me.

Judi
Canyon by Gary Paulson
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a great adventure story that hasn't been noticed much by readers.

Bee
The Last Days by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is a must read! It's a companion to PEEPS, and it has different characters, but as always Scott is highly original and entertaining.

Alana
The Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan
Rating: 2 Stars
While this story had a lot of information, it was really dry. The author stuck so closely to the non-fiction facts that the book wasn't that interesting. Not recommended, unless your seriously interested in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Brittany
I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak
Rating: 5 Stars
This was amazing! It made me realize that the people who feel its their duty to help or judge people are the ones who are helped or judged the most.

Kay Q.
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Rating: 5 Stars
This book changed how I looked at people who commit suicide. It breaks your heart, and makes you appreciate your time on earth.

Anna Motteler
Before I Die by Jenny Downham
Rating: 5 Stars
Amazing book. It made me crack up and cry, all at the same time.

Kayyxm
Pretties by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 4 Stars
I love this book. I can't seem to put it down, but I wish I could have read the first in the series, UGLIES, first.

Bekah
Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke
Rating: 4 Stars
The stunning conclusion to the bestselling Inkheart Trilogy.

Naomi
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Rating: 5 Stars
This is one of those "must read" books! It's very heart warming and it puts us in a world in which the living and the dead can communicate with each other. And, though friendship isn't always how we want it to be sometimes, we may not know what the outcome will be when we share our most deepest darkest secrets with our friends.

Stacy
Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston
Rating: 4 Stars
Awesome book.

John
Marked: A House of Night novel by Kristin and P. C. Cast
Rating: 5 Stars
Delicately and modernly written with a speck of teen angst.

Anna
Dreamland by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is a deep look into the life of a teenage girl that most people try to avoid seeing. But I think it's something to be aware of and Sarah Dessen did an excellent job portraying it. This book is absolutely one of the best I've ever read.

Lauren
A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore
Rating: 3 Stars
The storyline is really great and funny, but it was not a book that I could really get into.

John
24 Girls in 7 Days by Alex Bradley
Rating: 3 Stars
A little bland and awkward, but still has realism that's worth reading for.

--Emily--
Untamed by P. C. Cast
Rating: 5 Stars
This was, by far, the best book in the House of Night series. It is the fourth book installment, but the good news is that HAUNTED is coming out sometime in March 2009.This, along with the rest of the series, is a must read for anyone who enjoys books filled with action, horror, drama, and even romance. It will definitely leave you "thirsting" for more.

Winna
Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an amazing book! It is the second installment in a great series. Gemma Doyle and her adventures have enchanted me yet again.

--Emily--
Scribbler of Dreams by Mary E. Pearson
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a definite must read for anyone who enjoys a good love/adventure story. It is about Kaitlin Malone who was born to hate the Crutchfields. Kaitlin's life is changed forever after she meets Bram, who she later finds out is a Crutchfield! Will the lies she told and her hate for the Crutchfields consume her, or will love conquer all? Read to find out! You'll love this book because it teaches a lesson and is very easy to relate to.

Aria
The Wedding Planner's Daughter (series) by Coleen Murtagh Paratore
Rating: 4 Stars
I thought this book had a cute story, and whether or not you like easy-to-read chapter books, it's nice to slow down after you've read a long, or complicated, book. I also liked the Shakespeare quotes at the beginning of each chapter (even though I'm not a big Shakespeare fan).

Emily
Pretty Little Liars # 5: Wicked by Sara Shepard
Rating: 5 Stars
This book continued a series that has kept me on my toes and wanting more. WICKED did not disappoint. When I finished it, I wanted more to find out what happens next.

Hannah L
The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson
Rating: 4 Stars
Overall, these books are fast paced, exciting, suspenseful, and filled with adventure. I mean, who doesn't like a hero with catchy comebacks, superhuman strength, and for crying out loud, she has WINGS! The books I read have to have a fight scene at least every fifty pages, and these books went well above and beyond. But, unfortunately for me, I tend to notice things in books that no one else does. I caught at a few "book bloopers" in the series and a couple things that just didn't make sense. I'm hoping that it will all come together in the next book and then the Maximum Ride series will definitely deserve 5 stars.

Brie Marie
The Secret Circle by L. J. Smith
Rating: 5 Stars
I love how L. J. Smith puts you in the characters' shoes with vivid descriptions. They seem real, and it made me want to jump into the book and help solve their problems along with them!

L
What Would Emma Do? by Eileen Cook
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was so funny. No wonder Meg Cabot has endorsed it.

Katayoun
Runemarks by Joanne Harris
Rating: 5 Stars
Heart-stopping adventure and so very interesting characters that are all beautifully written.

xxKIMxx
The Last Days by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 5 Stars
Great book, and also a great sequel to PEEPS. The new characters definitely did not disappoint and the plot of a band using their music as a cure and to fight the enemy was awesome, especially since every teen feels that music is a part of their lives.

Jade
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
All of Sarah Dessen's books are amazing, but this one stood out the most to me. It is about finding your true self and not worrying about what other people think of you.

Stephanie
Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce
Rating: 5 Stars
I read this series at least once a year and I know the stories forward and backward, but I never get tired of reading them. They offer new excitement every time and still continue to have me sitting on edge, wanting to know what comes next even though I already know. They are fairly easy reads and I would very strongly recommend these books to everyone. If you like fantasy, romance, action, and thrillers, you will love this series!

Brooke
The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
Rating: 5 Stars
One of my favorite books ever! It has a great storyline with lots of drama.

Amanda
What I Saw and How I Lied by Judy Blundell
Rating: 5 Stars
I had heard a bunch of good stuff about this, so I read it. And, I agree with almost everything people have told me. It was a great read!

Melanie
Dreamland by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a very good book. It is interesting in many ways. It has problems and a story that many teens can understand and relate to in many ways. When i first read the book, it seemed so depressing, but then as I read more, I saw that it had love and friendship, and it showed the true identity of the book and all the problems in it. This is a great book and I recommend it to all teens.

Melanie
Saving Zoe by Alyson Noel
Rating: 5 Stars
I have read this book over and over so many times already. This book is another one of my favorite books. It shows the problems teens have every day in their lives. And how one little mistake can lead to a lot of mistakes, trouble, and heartbreak. This book is a must read for all teen, especially teen girls.

Melanie
Go Ask Alice by Anonymous
Rating: 5 Stars
When I read this book I couldn't believe that it was a true story. I kept telling myself this can't be real, and this stuff just happens in movies. GO ASK ALICE is about a 14-year-old girl moves to a new place, hangs out with new people and starts to do really bad and hard-to-believe things. This book was one of the three books that I actually took to the heart and will never forget. It shows the troubles we all live in today and how your life can change very quickly.

Melanie
Vampire Academy: Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead
Rating: 5 Stars
If you want a book to sit down and relax with, his is the best one.. It has to do with the unreal creatures of our "fantasy world" --- enen vampires and ghosts. It's a great book to read on your spare time when you just want to lay back and hang out.

Melanie Ruiz
City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is great for readers who like mystical creatures and also fantasy. It is an action-packed romance, mystery, and so much more. It has a lot of twists and turns, and you will never know exactly how the story will end.

Kate
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Rating: 4 Stars
I am not finished with the book but it has captured my attention. It's really hard to put it down! It's such a tragic story.

Jenna
Paper Towns by John Green
Rating: 4 Stars
A very good novel. I'm usually not as into reading from a male's perspective, but this year, that has changed. John Green's characters, dialogue and plot is always intriguing and eye-catching. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to lay back, relax, and laugh.

Rachel
Masquerade by Melissa De La Cruz
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the sequel to BLUE BLOODS, the first novel in the Blue Bloods series. It was actually surprisingly better than the first novel, and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a creative spin on the traditional vampire myth, making the book a mystery and a fantasy at the same time. ;]

Nistha
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J. K. Rowling
Rating: 5 Stars
Great!

Effie
Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lynn Childs
Rating: 5 Stars
I would have to say this is one of the best books that I've read all year. I wasn't expecting it to be a book that I'd learn something from, but it is. Not in the sense of a life lesson or in a way that it will bore you --- just little facts about gods and what they were known for. The main character, Phoebe, is funny and smart and will not seem annoying like other characters can be in books. Overall, I would recommend this book to any of my friends.

Marissa
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 Stars
Think the television show "Survivor" set in the future. The characters were written so well. I had to keep reading to see what happened to them. I can't wait for the next in this new series!!

Ashley CSY
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a great book! I have enjoyed the whole series all the way through. I believed that ECLIPSE was the best book so far even though i haven't finished BREAKING DAWN yet!

Nadine-Stella
Skipping Christmas by John Grisham
Rating: 3 Stars
I just finished this one and it was pretty funny. During Blair's first Christmas away form home, her parents decide to "skip" it this once and go on a cruise instead. It was a pretty funny book, describing all the struggles they had to go through and how it was all done for nothing. The movie Christmas With the Kranks gives this book justice.

Ashley CSY
Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz
Rating: 5 Stars
It takes a while to get through the book. It seemed to me that the beginning dragged on and on and then when you get to the middle it gets much better! Also it shifts points of view so fast that you have to go back and re-read some pages to tell who is speaking now. Definitely not a boring book --- it keeps your mind working until the very end.

Amanda
Paper Towns by John Green
Rating: 5 Stars
John Green knows how to connect to teens on a real level, and put serious situations into a perspective everyone can find some way to relate. This is his third book to publish and the third time I know I've actually found an author that I'll read his books just for the reason he wrote them. I doubly recommend it and hope you guys like it too.

Mi@
Ask Me Something Easy by Natalie Honeycutt
Rating: 2 Stars
This is a really great book about Addie and the changes she must go through when her parents split. It is slow at first, but gets better later. Growing up is hard, especially when you feel all alone. Honeycutt makes a good story based on those hardships.

Mi@
Anthem by Ayn Rand
Rating: 4 Stars
An interesting tale of learning the word 'I'. It's great for those who enjoy futuristic stories.

Esther
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
I loved it. I hope she writes the sequels for them.

John
Wicked by Nancy Holder and Debie Vigue
Rating: 5 Stars
Excellently written, and a cast of characters worth reading.

Jessica
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 Stars
Amazing! This was where we could go in the future. Reality TV meets gladiator brutality. Can Katniss survive? Will she want to? I'm waiting with bated breath for the next book.

Corrina
Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City by Kirsten Miller
Rating: 5 Stars
This is one of the best books I have ever read! I love the suspense, humor, and mystery surrounding Kiki Strike and the Shadow City. I think it is a must read for every tween/teen.

Meghan
Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a very fun, light-hearted book. It always makes me happy to read it. I would recommend reading it around Christmas time.

Catherine
Paper Towns by John Green
Rating: 5 Stars
This was fantastic; it's clever and funny and sad, and unforgettable.

Angie
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling
Rating: 5 Stars
A fantastic end to a fantastic series. There's enough in here to make you lose your breath and make you feel like you ran a mile, not to mention squeezing every last tear out of the eyes of the fans who've been reading from the beginning. An instant classic in every way.

Hannah
Squire by Tamora Pierce
Rating: 5 Stars
I love Tamora Pierce's books --- she's amazing. I've read this series at least five times, and I never get sick of it. I recommend it to everyone; it's a strong book about female empowerment and is filled with action!

Catherine
Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was pure fun. The characters are endearing and eccentric, and Scarlett finds herself in the most hilarious and exciting summer of her life.

Asjah
Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Rating: 5 Stars
I absolutely loved this book. I just could not stop reading. I look forward to reading her other books.

Asjah
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
I have already read this book a countless number of times. It never gets old! This author is very imaginative, it's amazing.

Angie
Counter Clockwise by Jason Cockcroft
Rating: 4 Stars
If I could have, I would've given this a 3.5. It is about a boy whose mother died a year ago and his father goes back in time to try and stop it from ever happening. It's trippy in the best way, and very fast paced. I felt for the characters and enjoyed it quite a bit. Maybe the 4 stars is warranted after all! :)

Carly
Travel Team by Mike Lupica
Rating: 4 Stars
Although a lot of people think this is a guy book, it's great for girls too. I love Mike Lupica's books because he always makes the simplest problems seem like the worst. So many things happen to the main character, but he still ends up coming out strong and getting his way.

Maddie S
The Secret Blog of Raisin Rodriguez by Judy Goldschmidt
Rating: 5 Stars
I thought this book was great. Raisin is such a funny person and it was really fun to read her blog, which she writes to try and keep in touch with her old friends when she moves across the country to live with her dad and step-family. She tells them everything, even stuff she really shouldn't, and eventually the inevitable happens, and her blog spreads around school. While I was reading this, I gasped and laughed at Raisin's crazy experiences and her funny way of telling them, just as if I were one of the friends she left behind.

Maddie S
Dear Zoe by Philip Beard
Rating: 5 Stars
This is probably my favorite book I've read lately. DEAR ZOE was a little sad, but really interesting and, I think, an awesome read. It is a letter written by Tess, Zoe's older sister, to Zoe about her life and all that Zoe has missed since she died when she got hit by a car at age 3. So sad, but such an honest and lovable character that Tess is makes this a really great book.

Tiffany
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
Very exciting and surprising.

Maddie S
The Fashion Disaster that Changed My Life by Lauren Myracle
Rating: 4 Stars
This is such a fun little book that reminded me about how embarrassing and awful middle school was. Alli was sure this was going to be the year when she got noticed and she sure did --- just not in the way she'd planned on. Reliving a little bit of middle school pain was much more fun than living it initially.

Maddie S
How to Be Bad by E. Lockhart, Sarah Mynowski, Lauren Myracle
Rating: 4 Stars
I thought this book was pretty good. I liked how the three different authors made the three different narrators, Mel, Vicks, and Jesse have completely different personalities, and the story kept me engaged the whole time. The quirky places they went made it interesting, too.

Nina
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 3 Stars
This wasn't as good as the first three books. Seriously, they prepare for a scene for about 300 pages, and it doesn't even happen.

Binte
Does my head look big in this? by Randa Abdel-Fatah
Rating: 5 Stars
I love this book. It gives you a firsthand experience of learning another culture. It is funny and still educational. It teaches how teenagers are the same even when their culture and religion are different.

Senayt Alemu
The End by Lemony Snicket
Rating: 5 Stars
I have loved every other book in the series. This was really insightful towards the end, getting a bit general but gave the book a nice ending touch.

Elizabeth
Water For Elephants by Sarah Gruen
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the story of a young man who walks out on his veterinary exams after his parents die. He has no idea what to do with himself and hops a random train and ends up joining the circus.

Aly
Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin
Rating: 4 Stars
So far, this book is pretty good. It gets a bit confusing at times, but I like it. The location is awesome and is the reason I picked the book up in the first place, so if you love San Francisco, then you should read this book. It's a great read and I recommend this book to people.

Samantha
Love and Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Rating: 5 Stars
This novel was an amazing conclusion to the Peaches trilogy. It kept my interest up through the last page. The girls all got their happy endings,

Danielle
Boogiepop at Dawn by Kouhei Kadono
Rating: 3 Stars
This is a really great "light novel". Its main purpose is to explain how Boogiepop came about and I really appreciate that. I'm a huge fan of the Boogiepop series so any information I can get about any character is really awesome, in my opinion.

Melissa
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Rating: 4 Stars
This book was hilarious! It combined lots of different religions and myths and turned it into an alarmingly funny book about the end of the world!

Martha
She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
Rating: 5 Stars
This book has it all: anguish, humor, sarcasm, hope, joy, love, heartbreak. Recommended to anybody who has ever fallen down and struggled to get back up.

Jenna
Wide Awake by David Levithan
Rating: 5 Stars
I found this book particularly inspiring at this time in our country's history as it tells a story of tolerance and acceptance of the differences of others.

Chioma
Breaking Dawn by stephenie meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This story grabbed me from beginning to end. it was filled with mystery and wonder! love it!

Simah
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Rating: 4 Stars
You can definitely relate to this book. Becca Bloomwood is a shopaholic who just loves the idea of buying things.

Patty
Airhead by Meg Cabot
Rating: 5 Stars
I've got to say, when my mom said she got me a book from the library, I wasn't too thrilled. When she said it was a Meg Cabot book, I perked up a bit. I had read a few of her books about a year earlier, and I had liked them. I didn't love them, though.

That completely changed when I read AIRHEAD. I don't want to give away anything, but I think it's safe to say it's the best book I've read in a long time.

I read all four books in less than 4 days! I can't wait for book 5 to come out in March 09' --- they are awesome! It's a mix of Harry Potter meets TWILIGHT! Great reads!

All 4 books are amazing!

Vaseline
Preparation: [H]ead by Boomer Wadaska, Christopher Michael, Kyle Bernhard
Rating: 5 Stars
The most fun read I've encountered that is smart, yet includes a keyword glossary for the "unsmart."

This book is full of poetry, short stories and prose that don't make you want to blow your brains out to get through them. It's worth the price for the cover alone!

Emily
The Luxe by Anna Godberson
Rating: 5 Stars
Scandalous! Like Gossip Girl in the late 1800s. It kept me pulled in to the very last page. I can't wait to read the sequel, RUMORS!

Jessie
When It Happens by Susanne Colasanti
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was great. It showed love and love-conflict problems. The couples did get a happy ending, and I loved it! I love this author. Read this book!

Linda
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
Rating: 5 Stars
THE GOOD EARTH is a period piece set in China. Wang Lung is a down-to-earth farmer (literally) who goes from rags to riches and begins to stray away from who he was as he got richer. It's about self-discovery, and it's meaningful as it makes you feel grateful for all the people who sacrificed.

Amanda
Airhead by Meg Cabot
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was really good, as always with Meg Cabot. It was funny, interesting, and something most teens can totally relate to. The only real problem I have with it is the cliffhanger ending. I'm sure there will be a sequel, but it doesn't come out until May! How will we live?!

Amanda
Walk of the Spirits by Richie Tankersley Cusick
Rating: 5 Stars
I loved this book. It's a little bit of mystery, love story, fantasy, and just real-life fiction.
Also, a book that most people can relate to, since most of the characters all have very different personalties. My only complaint is that the ending was also a major cliffhanger. But of course there is a sequel coming out for this one too, so hopefully the story will just get better!

Mandy
Eva Underground by Dandi Daley Mackall
Rating: 5 Stars
Dandi Daley Mackall's EVA UNDERGROUND was one of the best books I have read in a long time. A truly original book that I read in one sitting, it has likable characters, along with historical accuracy.

The book takes place in 1978. Eva Lott is a normal teenager, who is just looking forward to her upcoming senior year. She has a boyfriend and just made the swim team. Everything is going well in her life. That is, until her farther announces their moving to communist Poland to help in the ongoing freedom movement.

Eva didn’t want to go to Poland in the first place, and certainly doesn’t change her mind when she first gets there. She misses her friends, her room, and most of all, hot water. However, slowly as the book progresses, Eva changes her perspective. She meets Tomek, an interpreter, and connects to him in a way she never thought possible. At the same time, Eva begins to truly understand the spirit of Poland.
As the danger and her affections for Tomek grow, Eva begins to question what is really important in life. EVA UNDERGROUND reminds you that even when your life is good, other people’s aren’t. This book will not only truly make you appreciate what you have, it will also give you an interesting view on love, life, and communism.

Morgan
Chosen by Ted Dekker
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is about a boy, Johnis, who is chosen to be part of the Forest Guard. He and the other recruits have to go on a mission. This changes into a dangerous adventure as Johnis and his friends find out about 7 lost books of history that they have to find.

Mariah
A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is very romantic and very sad at the same time. Two ghosts are fighting to be together, doing anything they can to make that happen. It broke my heart but mended it again.

Georgia
Copper Sun by Sharon M. Draper
Rating: 5 Stars
I loved the historical detail. It was a little graphic in spots, but I think it was needed to make it real.

Georgia
A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an excellent epic book (series). Although it is listed under Fantasy/SciFi, it is more of a story of royal intrigue and kingdoms with a little bit of dragons thrown in.

Morgan
The Midnight Twins by Jacquelyn Mitchard
Rating: 5 Stars
I've read a couple other books by Mitchard, and I loved them. Once I got into this, I couldn't stop! I actually stayed up till 12:30 at night reading on a school night. I was also very tired the next day :). It's about two twins who are in a fire on their 13th birthday. After that, one can see into the past and the other into the future.

Mariah
Scribbler of Dreams by Mary E. Pearson
Rating: 5 Stars
I have read this book 5 times because its that good. This book is a romance that will make turn the pages until you have reached the end. It is like a modern day Romeo and Juliet (except no one dies).

Morgan
Lush by Natasha Friend
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is about a girl and how she deals with her drunk father. She writes letters to a stranger at the library asking for advice.

Mandii
Fifteen by Beverly Cleary
Rating: 4 Stars
Definitely a good book for young readers who are just starting to date or have friends of the opposite sex. It is a little under my reading level, but it was still a cute book.

Sara
Six Months to Live (Dawn Rochelle Series, Book 1) by Lurlene Mcdaniel
Rating: 4 Stars
I love this book along with all the others in the miniseries. You can learn a lot and get a real respect for families going through bad medical times.

The Book Muncher
Shelter Me by Alex McAulay
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a great action thriller with a historical twist. It lacks a little on the character development but is sure to keep the reader on the edge of his/her seat.

Sophia
The Body of Christopher Creed by Carol Plum-Ucci
Rating: 3 Stars
This book seemed to be filled with suspense and drama, but the ending really disappointed me --- it was kind of random.

Hiroshima by John Hersey
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a really good book. It shows the devastating effects that a nuclear weapon/bomb can have. It also shows how some people never lose hope and try to do their best to overcome.
