Sierra
Identical by Ellen Hopkins
Rating: 5 Stars
I really enjoy this book, not only for the storyline, but also because of how it is written. The storyline is one that captures you, and makes you think about your life and appreciate it. The way it is written captivates me. It is a story told in all poetry. I really appreciate writers who experiment with their works, and this novel is a perfect example.

C.J. Walsh
The Curse of Blackhawk Bay by Erin Fanning
Rating: 4 Stars
Spooky stories that I stayed up all night to read! It's all about this 200-hundred-year-old curse and these teenagers that have to fight it. One girl's grandfather ends up being a monster and vultures transform into these creepy men. I've been wondering if it could be based on true events. Definitely a fun, quick read!

Amanda
Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz

Really good and fast paced. Although, it was a little confusing at times :)

Samantha

The third book in the Marked series. Honestly, these books are like eating cotton candy, they are so good, but they have absolutely no nutritional value at all. A quick read.

Suspenseful, creative, hard to put down, with great characters! The series keeps getting better and better. I just started the 3rd book and I'm hooked.

L.B.
Maximum Ride series by James Patterson
Rating: 5 Stars
I love all the characters, especially Max and Fang! It's so unexpected; the flock may have their differences but make a great group of weirdos. Oh, I can't wait to read the next one! By the way, if you haven't read the series, it's a must :)

Lemlem
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

It's a great book with a hidden secret that Annabelle must tell. As you read on you find out what really happened to Anabelle over the summer! As she reveals her secrets, she gets her life back.

It was amazing with so many twists and turns, you would have to read it to understand! Anyways, i thought it was great and a bit creepy, especially the cover!

Gabby
Mortimer by Robert Munsch
Rating: 5 Stars
First off, I liked the author's word choice in the story and it was very descriptive. The character was really funny!

Lemlem
How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier
Rating: 5 Stars
It was humorous and partly realistic with a sprinkle of fantasy (fairy involvement), to top the cake. I really got into it.

Lemlem
Ghost Girl by Tonya Hurley
Rating: 5 Stars
A unsuspected death and a life on the other side all happen to one girl. I thought the gummy bear part was hilarious (who would've thought) and the rest was good too!

lemem
Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke
Rating: 5 Stars
I love the characters of Meggie and Mo, and also Fared and the rest! Though they're fictional. their lives and attitudes are realistic. I loved Meggie's final decision, especially!

Lemlem
The Clique by Lissi Harrison
Rating: 5 Stars
Even though the characters are mostly snotty, you can see the intimidation that happens. And what Claire must endure as the new girl is something we sometimes see and hate but have never read about. That's what makes it so great!

Lemlem
Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
I like this author a lot! The girl gets into a lot of trouble but still learns her lesson in life. Her hardships make her a stronger person, and her loss is replaced with a gain.

Katrina
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
Rating: 4 Stars
it's a really good book. It's about faeries and other magical creatures, but not like ogres and dragons. It's more on faeries and feys. It's sort of a love story, too. It's really cool.

Lemlem
Kiss Me Kill Me by Lauren Henderson
Rating: 5 Stars
It was fabulous and had an unsuspected twist right at the beginning. But what could you expect from a title like that! A great mystery to read!

Lemlem
Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr
Rating: 5 Stars
First off, I love this author; she is great. And this book was fantastic! Deanna has a family problem she doesn't know how to resolve and friendship she can't control. She learns eventually, and luck comes her way! It was awesome.

Jessica D
Maximum Ride #4: The Final Warning by James Patterson
Rating: 4 Stars
It definitely wasn't as good as the other 3 books in the series, but it wasn't a total let down either. I don't think it followed the story line very well at all, but seeing as it was a Maximum Ride book, I loved it ^_^

Mariah
Graceling by Kristen Cashore
Rating: 5 Stars
I really liked this book because it had a strong feminine hero who would not tolerate a man doing her job, or thinking he can. It was also a novel of self-discovery and believing in yourself. I read it in one sitting! That's how good it was!

ActionFry
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is awesome --- actually it's more than awesome. It would seem like your typical girl in Nazi Germany, hiding a Jew, eh? Well, it isn't.

It's narrated by Death.

Yep. Death from the beginning to the end. The prose is amazing, little gems are on every page -- figurative language and such.

There's so much foreshadowing and Death tells you what's going to happen but not everything--which makes it more mysterious.

The characters feel so real, you really feel for them --- even for Death itself. (And Death makes some hilarious comments on what people think of him --- haha, he carries a scythe.)

It is so tragic and so beautiful. So heart-wrenching, and so funny. So interesting, suspenseful, and yet you can't help but feel like you want to put it down because you know what's going to happen might not be pretty, but you can't because you have to know.

I really can't say enough about this wonderful book, except...

READ IT. Put down that Twilight book and pick THIS up. You won't be disappointed.

D
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The winner has all that they will ever need for life; however, the only way to win is to kill all of your opponents.

Elizabeth
Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is amazing as it is fast-paced, and is an excellent addition to the Vampire Academy series. The book allows you to really understand the main character and the effects of what has happened in the last two books.

Jalayus
Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme S by James Peterson

This is a conservation story. A group of kids use some pretty creative ideas to save a redwood forest about to be chopped down for lumber.

Nora
Girl At Sea by Maureen Johnson
Rating: 5 Stars
I love this book --- it's a cross between mystery, treasure hunt, and romance. The ending is great, and it's one of my favorite books by Maureen Johnson.

Alex
Texan Heat by Shane Maddon
Rating: 4 Stars
The grammar was a little funky, which I later found out was the publishers fault, lol, but it was a really cute book, and I think any gay teen should definitely check it out. :)

Nora
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
Rating: 4 Stars
Although I liked the first book in the Mortal Instruments series the most (CITY OF BONES), I was very impressed with CITY OF ASHES. Clary's family will always be more dysfunctional than mine --- I just hope hers works out some of their problems.

Porshia
Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson
Rating: 5 Stars
I love this series! James Patterson rocks! These are the best books ever written in the history of the universe!

Nellee
Marked: a House of Night Novel by P. C. Cast and Kristen Cast
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is one of the best books I have ever read. If you love TWILIGHT or BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE, then you're gonna love these books. There are four in the series: MARKED, BETRAYED, CHOSEN, and UNTAMED. I just finished BETRAYED.

Zoey is pretty much a normal 16-year-old girll until she's "marked". This means you start turning into a vampire. You either become one or you die. Since she is marked, she has to go to the house of night, which is a special school for vampires. I don't know how to describe it without giving the story away. Just read it, and I promise you won't be disappointed :)

Jasmine
The Lost Books: Renegade by Ted Dekker
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is amazing. It's the third book in a series and I'm totally hooked. It's got everything I like --- action, love, and plot twists that keep your head spinning. This book keeps me pretty occupied. In fact, I'm so into it, I seem to forget that life still exists around me!

Leah
In the Service of Dragons IV by Robert Stanek
Rating: 5 Stars
The best books I have ever read, and I can't wait for whatever the author writes next. It is the most incredible story ever, even better than Harry Potter.

Katie Butler
A Kiss In Time by Alex Flinn
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is a modern retelling of the story of Sleeping Beauty. It is told in alternating viewpoints of the two main characters. The book will be released on April 28,2009. I haven't quite finished yet, but it is really good so far.

Kim
Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith
Rating: 4 Stars
I wasn't quite sure about this book at first, but it turned out to be actually good. The way Miranda changes throughout the story just to be able to survive is great. And it makes you able to relate to her relationship with Zachary, who she can't have but wants. All in all, it's well worth reading.

Jennifer
Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr
Rating: 4 Stars
I love this book because it not only brings you back into the world of WICKED LOVELY, but it gives you more of an in-depth explanation of the Dark Court.I recommend this book to anyone who read WICKED LOVELY or likes books of fantasy, suspense, faeries, intriguing characters, and tattoos.

Kate
The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti
Rating: 4 Stars
i just borrowed this book from the library, not expecting much. It really surprised me. Jade Deluna has panic disorder --- she fears everything. Then, she meets Sebastian and she learns to take risks. Sebastian is a single father who has a few secrets of his own. You really do learn a lot about your own life and how you approach risks.

Jade

Rating: 5 Stars
All I have to say is wow.

Andy
The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian
Rating: 4 Stars
I just started it so I can't give a good critique yet, but so far it's pretty good.

Rachelle
Bec by Darren Shan
Rating: 4 Stars
This is the forth book in the Demonata series. If you read one book and then read the next one a while later, it could be a little confusing keeping up with the main characters that change through every book. Also he has a vampire series called Cirque Du Freak that I prefer over this one.

PJ
Deadline by Chris Crutcher
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is really good. I would recommend it to everyone.

Maria
Paradise Lost by Kate Brian
Rating: 5 Stars
This was an amazing book. The last paragraph just made me want to read the next book straight away.can't wait to read the next book!

Katy
Wicked:Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the by Gregory Maguire
Rating: 5 Stars
Great book, but may be a little bit mature for some people.

Diana
Before I Die by Jenny Downham
Rating: 3 Stars
It was okay, but the main character, Tessa, annoyed me because she was so melodramatic and acted like she was the only teenager who ever got cancer or something.
And if that wasn't bad enough, her list (in my opinion) lacked anything that really mattered.

Sophia
Come the Night by Susan Krinard
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is amazing. And for all the Twilighters out there, this is a Werewolf book that does not disappoint. :)

Charlie

Mia
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
Her best book so far. I absolutely LOVE it. The story is just amazing, and the characters are so unique and all bring something important to the story. The way the story is written also adds mystery and originality to the story. Just amazing...

Makayla
Love is Hell by Melissa Marr, Scott Westerfeld. etc.
Rating: 5 Stars
It's a book of five short stories by five major authors, all centered around the idea that "love is hell." The stories are great and it shows you what the authors can do besides the stories they are know for.

Brianna
Rumo: and His Miraculous Adventures by Walter Moers

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
I love this book. I saw it first in the local bookstore and realized I had to read it. So I did, and I couldn't put it down. Sadly, it only took me two days to read it. I loved the interaction between the main characters and how through the front of the house you could see everything that happened to the family but everything seemed so different from the inside. I can't wait to read the rest of Sarah Dessen's books.

Kayla
The Devil's Breath by David Gilman

Rating: 5 Stars
You can't go wrong with the Princess Diaries series, or Meg Cabot as an author.

Katie R
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Rating: 4 Stars
We just read THE GREAT GATSBY Gatsby in English and I really enjoyed it, despite my intense dislike of Daisy. I was interested in reading more of Fitzgerald's work and saw this at a store and picked it up. I haven't gotten to "Benjamin Button" yet but "The Offshore Pirate" was great! The ending was completely unexpected and I can't wait to pick up the book and start reading more.

Alison
Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Rating: 5 Stars
Amazing book. It leaves you hanging on to your seat, wanting to know what happens next. Most of the time it's boys who have the special technique of the kill, but in this book the girl takes it, showing our side of the story. It shows that girls shouldn't be underestimated.

Mandy
Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
I have loved all her books, but this one is by far my fave!

Kensie
The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian
Rating: 5 Stars
This is one of the best books that I have read. There are also two other books after it. When I read it I couldn't stop reading.
This would be a good book if you don't like anything magical/ faerie-ish. It's written from a guys point of view.

Mi@
Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 4 Stars
Jessica Day moves to Bixby, Oklahoma, and discovers that even the little towns have their secrets. I really loved this book. I am so excited to read the rest in the series.

Mi@
Hacking Harvard by Robin Wasserman
Rating: 3 Stars
Although it was rather confusing at first, this turned out to be a good read. It was quite amazing how different this book was from previous ones I have read from the same author.

Max is the bravado one, Schwarz the genius, and Eric the voice of reason. They have a plan, and they are so going for it. Then there is Lexi, and she ends up messing with Eric's head.

LOR
Life Sucks by Jessica Abel, Gabe Soria and Warren Pleece
Rating: 4 Stars
It's a common misconception that graphic novels aren't books, but this one could change the mind of almost anyone.

With the surplus of watery vampire lit, this book was an ironic twist on the glamor of being undead. The main character, Dave, who works the night shift at a convenience store run by his master, Radu, has a crush on a goth girl who wants nothing more than to be what he is: A vampire.
He wants nothing more than to be a vegetarian again.

Though the art isn't the best, it grows on you after the first few pages. There is some blood, and it isn't a book suitable for younger teens, because of some graphic content. But the story is well written, and the ending fitting, yet melancholy.
All in all, it was a good read, and a nice change from all the other vampire stories swimming around lately.

Skinned by Robin Wasserman
Rating: 5 Stars
Lia Kahn has it all, until she techically 'dies'. Then she gets a new body and everything changes. Fabulous book! Robin Wasserman did a great job.
