Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman
Rating: 4 Stars
If you loved Jane Austen’s PRIDE AND PREJUDICE as much as I did, you’ll really enjoy this book. It’s funny and enlightening. It’s a new modern twist on the story people have been passionate about for over two hundred years. If you are not persuaded by the Jane Austen aspect then some would be, Stephenie Meyer (author of TWILIGHT) said this was the first book she suggests when asked for a book recommendation.

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
THIS LULLABY is my favorite of Sarah Dessen's books, I think. It's funny and entertaining. I laughed my whole way through, though some parts are really heartbreaking. The characters are very well thought out. The main character goes through a lot of internal struggles throughout the book. It's interesting TO read what her thoughts were at the beginning and how they changed in the end.

FROSTBITE is another thrilling installment of the Vampire Academy series. Rose is once again thrust into dangerous territory against unthinkable odds. On the side she must also deal with her longing for Dimitri, keep hold of her closest friend, Lissa, and reconce with her absent mother.
It is a novel that you won't want to put down until the last word. Mead is a very eloquent writer and it is a novel that most would enjoy.

This book is amazing. It grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go. Ever is so broken, you can't help but want to fix her. She is distant but you are still able to relate. The story was thrilling and unique. Similar to other books, but is still it's own. Two thumbs up!

Rating: 4 Stars
This book follows Keladry of Mindelan, a soon-to-be lady knight. She's chosen by legendary knight Lord Raoul to be his squire, and what follows is a fast-paced, fantastical, coming of age story. I loved watching Kel grow into herself and learn how to be a knight.

5 truly great authors writing about paranormal vacations that go awry? Of course, I couldn't resist getting it when I heard about it. It didn't disappoint at all. All the stories are worth reading, and I wasn't bored during any of them. This is the one anthology in which you want to read every single piece over and over again, soak up the nuances and meanings.

Runemarks by Joanne Harris
Rating: 5 Stars
RUNEMARKS incorporates Norse mythology, while also bringing a fresh new take on the familiar characters. It's a fast-paced adventure, a tale of an ordinary teenage girl, and has something for everyone. For me, that something was Loki, the trouble-making, charismatic trickster god. He stole my heart in every scene and left me waiting, hungry for more.

Queen of Babble Gets Hitched by Meg Cabot
Rating: 5 Stars
Meg Cabot has an uncanny way of making her books happy while still keeping them real. Even when the main character goes through numerous break-ups, confusions, job issues, and family issues, she still motors through them and emerges strong. Lizzie Nichols, of Queen of Babble, is a force to be reckoned with, and I loved watching her change over the course of the books. In this last installment, she learns how to make things happen in her life, go after what she really wants, and find the man she's been looking for all along.

Most of his posts makes sense and he always has a point. That's why millions of teenagers read his website and he gets a hundred comments every day. It's really funny and really cool.

Rating: 3 Stars
It was a nice story about a girl who loses her dad, and her healing process. However, even when there is another death involved, Tricia Mills is not able to make the scene very emotional. While HEARTBREAK RIVER was a nice book to read and enjoy, it wasn't the kind you'd want to read again.

Does My Head Look Big in This? by Randa Abdel-Fattah
Rating: 4 Stars
I really like this book because it is so realistic. Not everything you do is going to make everybody happy. In this book, the main character has many bad reactions from people surrounding her, and very few positive reactions. This book had so much meaning because no matter what people say or do, she keeps on going with what she feels is right. I think this was such an important message to send out to those who have read it because it makes you such a strong person. In some books they do "amazing" things that nobody else would do, but this book is very realistic and sends out such a strong message. I am very glad I am reading this book and am almost finished, I can't stop reading it!

Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
Rating: 5 Stars
Yelena is a prisoner of the commander of Ixia, and she is given the choice to die or be the commander’s food taster. Neither will guarantee her life, but she chooses to be the poison taster. So, she is given a poison that will kill her if she doesn’t return to Valek, the Commander's Chief of Security, daily. Valek would teach her what each poison tastes like. Yelena then falls for one of the commander’s top men (I can’t write their name). Yelena has a great sense of humor especially when dealing with Valek, who teaches her many things. She originally thinks that he’s harsh, until one of the generals (from another province) men attacks her in the hallway. Then she gets to see his soft side.
I know this is really vague but its hard to tell the story without giving the end away. This book is about 400 pages but I read it in one day. I picked it up and I couldn’t put it down.
There is also MAGIC STUDY and FIRE STUDY. The author, Maria V Snyder, also wrote STORM GLASS, which focuses on a different character from FIRE STUDY. And she’s currently working on SEA GLASS, which again, focuses on Opal (from STORM GLASS). She’s a great author and the entire series is really funny.

Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Rating: 5 Stars
I'm sure everyone is going to read this and groan... a 1000-page classic! But Gone with the Wind is probably one of the most universal novels ever written. It has everything --- romance, war, family, and a struggle for survival. Also, nasty and nice characters that make this novel the original Gossip Girls. It basically chronicles the life of Scarlett O'Hara, a wealthy, young planter's daughter in the South before, during, and after the Civil War. This is an excellent novel, despite its length.

Yet again, as I picked up Anna Godbersen's latest novel, I was rewarded with more drama than I would ever care for in my real life, but enjoyed thoroughly in the lives of fictional characters. Yet again I found myself cheering for my favorite characters, angry at those I did not care for, and sympathizing with those poor Manhattan socialites as they faced problem after problem. I have to say, this novel certainly impressed me.

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson
Rating: 5 Stars
The book is mainly about 6 mutant kids trying to survive in the real world, but there seems to be always someone out their to get them --- especially Erasers (wolfmen) who look like male models but are really mutated freaks from the institution called the School, which is in Death Valley, California. What a great name! But these kids --- especially Max, the leader --- are on a mission to save the youngest beloved member, Angel, from the School. And they will, one way or the other!

Fat Cat by Robin Brande
Rating: 5 Stars
Honestly, the summary from RandomBuzz is way better than the summary on the back of the book. And because I didn't get a chance to read the good summary, I was left with the really short bad summary and all in all, I didn't expect this book to be good. At all. However, as soon as I finished the first chapter, the book had me completely riveted. I wanted to know more --- about everything! The science project and what picture she would choose and most importantly, the guy Cat was staring at. I loved almost everything about this book. The only thing I had qualms about was the fact that I never knew exactly how fat Cat was. The author never gave me any numbers as in weight or any description for me to get a sense of how fat she was. And as she lost weight, I still didn't get a sense of how much weight she lost. All Cat kept saying was something like: Wow! Look at the numbers! And I'm like: Excuse me, can you tell me the numbers? So without some sort of description, I couldn't really see the whole progress of her turning into this hot girl. I just knew she became hot because guys came all over her but...I couldn't picture it in my mind. However, despite that little mishap, I loved the characters and the plot and almost everything. Cat is the protagonist of the story. She's smart, funny and was very perseverance. The science project that she conducted was on herself and because of her strong mentality, she managed to lose weight and gain a healthier body. If you read the book, you'll see what I mean because I don't want to give it away --- at least, not much. :) Amanda and Jordan were Cat's best friends. They were also going out with each other. Amanda is someone I had confusing feelings about. Sometimes she's probably the best best friend there is out there but sometimes she gets kind of annoying with her love for food especially when she doesn't gain weight from it but Cat does. However, I know that she genuinely cares for Cat and wouldn't let anyone hurt her. Plus, she stuck with her through thick and thin and didn't care about the way Cat looked. To her, Cat was always a beautiful and smart young lady and that's what I loved about Amanda. Jordan, though he is Amanda's boyfriend, he still cares deeply for Cat and treated her like if she was his little sister. I am so jealous of Amanda because he's such an awesome boyfriend..grr. Haha. Matt was a typical teenage boy. He's afraid to show his emotions to Cat and because of what he did to her, she wanted nothing to do with him. Sometimes he's a jerk but sometimes it's obvious that he still cares for her. He protects her but doesn't want her to know because of her obvious hostility towards him. That's all I'm going to say about him otherwise I'll give out the plot. And no one wants me doing that! Overall, Fat Cat was a fantastic book that dwelled in forgiveness, friendship and body image.

Teens will like this YA novel about a boy who just can't seem to do anything right, even when he's deliberately trying to do things wrong! Liam is cursed with good looks and a great fashion sense. No matter what he does, he is still Mr. Popularity. In disgrace after his father catches him in flagrante delicto in his office, Liam finds himself kicked out of the house and sent to live at the trailer home of his gay 'Aunt Pete.'
Once there, Liam decides that he will remake himself and finally gain the respect and love of his father --- a demanding perfectionist who controls his son and wife with a very firm hand and who has specific ideas of what each should and should not be or do.
In the process of trying to become something he's not, Liam discovers himself. Along with some memorable characters, the friends of his rocker DJ uncle, and the girl next door, Liam finally realizes that he has to learn to respect who he really is.

A great book overall, I loved how even though Liz (Elizabeth) died suddenly she can still move on. | Being Nikki (An Airhead Novel) by Meg Cabot |
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was as good as the first book. I couldn't put it down; i had to find out what happens, and I was left wanting more. Meg Cabot brings a sense of humor to what is a very sci fiction book. But don't let that throw you off, if you are a fan of Meg. You'll love this book.

Airhead by Meg Cabot
Rating: 4 Stars
This is the first book that I have read by Meg Cabot, although I have several in my TBR pile. This definitely won't be my last! I loved the character of Emerson. I loved how she was kinda dorky and wasn't afraid to admit it. But I also loved how she later admitted that she liked things that she never thought she would. And I really liked Nikki's best friend, Lulu, too! And I want a Cosy of my own! It's a good thing that I have the sequel to this book, BEING NIKKI, to read next. I literally turned the last page not having a clue that it was the end...I thought there was more! I can't wait to dive into the next one!

This is the second book in the Airhead series by Meg Cabot. And I loved it just as much as the first one! I really like the way that Em is written. Looking back at my high school years, I can totally relate to her, and the way she feels about Christopher. The book ended on a cliffhanger --- and I want to read more NOW :) I didn't see the ending coming at all. The only thing I don't like is that now I have to wait for the next book in the series, RUNAWAY, to come out!
